Sign & Rhyme

Sign & Rhyme Fun and playful baby and toddler signing and singing groups with songs, musical instruments and stories to develop early interactive skills Hello – I’m Marie.

My experience as a speech and language therapy assistant, coupled with my signing skills (British Sign Language Stage 2), sparked my enthusiasm for baby signing. I’ve been teaching baby signing for some time now, and I can appreciate the benefits for both you and your child: it’s a fun and rewarding way to make the most of your baby’s natural ability to communicate; it encourages and supports their language development - you will always use signs together with the spoken word - giving them a head start when they begin to use their vocabulary, spelling and reading skills; and it strengthens the bond between you and your child.

🥰 Babies can understand so much before they actually talk, and baby signing enables them to communicate their emotions and needs effectively. Your ability to understand these needs through simple signs gives you the confidence to respond appropriately and helps to reduce frustration for you and your baby. The learning process is great fun, too and the classes are relaxed and friendly. Please call 07710 217466 message me via Facebook or email marie@signandrhyme.co.uk if there’s any further information that you want to discuss, or for details of future course dates. My classes run at Bagworth Community Centre, Station Road, Bagworth LE67 1BH.

🥰 Weekly ‘Song in a Bag’ sessions. Age range birth to five years - £5 per session or £22.00 for five weeks (please note there are no refunds given for missed sessions if you pay in five week blocks.) Lots of fun for you and your little ones. Interactive session of signing and singing, musical instruments and so much more for you all to enjoy.

🥰 Five-week baby signing course to include handouts, £40, payable in advance. Age range 6months to twelve months. Learn specific signs to use with your baby in their daily routine. Lots of fun for you and your baby, a very interactive session for you all to enjoy.

Happy Wednesday everyone🤩. Thank you for coming to Sign & Rhyme today at Bagworth Community Centre🥰. It was great to see so many Christmas outfits🎄, you all looked FAB-U-LOUS🤩.

We welcomed a new family today, so hopefully we will see you both again next week🥰.

I love hearing all your animal noises when we do Row, Row🐊🦁, and I also love to see your actions for shivering for the penguin🐧. The best of all though is hearing you giggling when you are being tickled by your parents and grandparents😂.

It's great to see you all contemplating which item you are going to choose from a choice of 2 items 😍, 'mmm, shall I take the 'HORSE' or 'SANTA'?'🤔 It can be a tough decision sometimes🤔😂.

You seemed to enjoy our ❄️'Snowflake'❄️ song. First the snowflake was on your nose❄️, then your toes❄️, then your head❄️ - I wonder where you will put it next? 🤔Maybe in your hair, and then you can flutter it in the air❄️. Have fun❄️.

🎅It will be our last session next week before Christmas descends on us, so do pop along for more Christmas Cheer🎅.

I hope you have a great Christmassy week, and I shall look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday - ONLY 15 MORE SLEEPS TIL CHRISTMAS DAY😴X.

Have fun.

What beautiful singing we had from the children at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth this morning, it was great to hear you all 🥳

🎅We had some very helpful elves too, putting presents into Santa's Sleigh 🎅, he certainly has a lot of work to do now, delivering all those presents🎅.

You did well thinking of things 'Christmassy' that we could clap or tap out on the tambourine, we had Christmas tree🎄👏👏👏, Santa🎅👏👏, Bauble👏👏, Reindeer🦌👏👏 and fairies👏👏. Well done🥳.

Thank you for a lovely morning🥰.

I shall look forward to seeing you all next Friday - it will soon be Christmas🎅, HO, HO HO

🎄We had a lovely time at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth this morning with our Christmas songs🎄.

The children also had lots of fun shaking their instruments 🪇, jingling their Christmas bells🎶 and banging the drum🥁. Well done all of you🥳.

You did some fantastic listening to our story 'Boomerang Bear'🧸. The children all looked so sad when the little boy decided he didn't want his teddy anymore😢😭😢. SANTA TO THE RESCUE 🎅- he knew that the little boy would want his teddy back, and he was able to get it back to him just in time for Christmas🧸. So a very happy ending, and it was lovely to see your faces light up when the little boy got his teddy back❤️.

I hope you all have a fun week, and I shall look forward to seeing you again next Tuesday 🥰.

I think you all enjoyed our story 'Boomerang Bear' 🥰. No matter how old you are, everyone loves to keep their teddy bear💕.

Tickles and giggles all round for our Row Row song😍. It's so lovely to watch the children waiting in anticipation for their tickles😍.

Free WHY A CHILD CAN'T CALM DOWN ON COMMAND INFORMATION SHEET
https://www.socialworkerstoolbox.com/why-a-child-cant-calm-down-on-command-information-sheet/
Big behaviours can leave adults unsure how to respond. It helps to know what happens in a child's body and brain when the child feels overwhelmed. The heart beats faster, breathing changes, and the survival part of the brain takes over. When this happens, the child cannot think clearly or follow instructions until the body has settled again.

Children still need rules, boundaries, routines, and fair consequences. These are a normal part of growing up. The poster below explains why these work best when a child is calm enough to listen, learn, and take guidance on board.

Happy Wednesday everyone, thank you all for coming to Sign & Rhyme this morning at Bagworth Community Centre 🥳.

It was lovely to see one of our families popping in to see us as they are having a short visit to the UK 🥰. Thank you so much for coming along it was great to see you all - the children have grown up so much - gorgeous😍😍.

It is great to see all the children making their choices of what they would like from our props when given two choices to choose from🥰. Great communication 🥳. I could tell by your facial expressions that some of you were a bit unsure of our 'Cockerel' today 🤣, another great way to express yourself🥰. Well done all of you 🥳.
Lovely to hear them ask for a particular song too 🥰.

Thank you all for tidying away all our toys/props and instruments🥰, it is such a delight to see you all helping each other. Well done all of you🥳.

Sunny morning✔️, closer to Christmas✔️, lovely time with the children at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth✔️. Now that's what I call a great start to Tuesday✔️.

I think you enjoyed our stories today, 'Goat goes to Playgroup' 🥰. He certainly did a lot of things there🤣. I think you particularly liked the bit when he was dressing up and he put his trousers on his head 🤣 . Our other story was 'Counting Sheep' , and you all did a great job of counting how many sheep there were 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑 . Well done all of you 🥳.

Good to see that you have had a fun time with our 'Fun On The Farm' theme, and it was great to see and hear you say/sign what animal was going to be in the 'Animal Box'. I think you all liked the cockerel 🐓, and I think you enjoyed shaking him to hear the sound he makes too🐓'COCK-A-DOODLE-DO.

I hope you all have a great week, and I shall look forward to seeing you next Friday when we will be starting our Christmas Songs 🎅. GOSH😱, is it that time already!!!🤩

Have fun 🥰.
