16 Year Old with Possible Bilateral Cholesteatoma – Right Ear

This video shows endoscopic examination and debris removal from the right ear of a 16-year-old patient with features suggestive of possible bilateral cholesteatoma.
Careful removal was carried out to allow better visualisation of the ear canal and tympanic membrane.
Suspected cholesteatoma always requires further ENT assessment for diagnosis and management.

The latest WAXscope®️ Teardrop Specula has been designed to further enhance the WAXscope®️ experience!

Key Benefits:
• Allows you to hold and insert a suction probe or manual instruments* just as you would when using head loupes, an endoscope, or an ENT microscope;
• Same familiar insertion technique as a standard specula;
• Eliminates hairs entering the slot, thanks to the new slot-free design.

All of this has been achieved while ensuring the suction probe or manual instrument never obstructs the WAXscope®️ camera or your field of view!

Essentially, if you are already using head loupes, endoscope or ENT microscope for ear wax removal, there is minimal transition to the WAXscope®️, whereas previously there was a new technique to adopt both in terms of specula and suction probe / manual instrument insertion.

This design has taken around six months to develop, and I genuinely believe it’s now as close to perfect as possible.
