This week, members from across our organisation came together for our in‑person Restraint Reduction Network Forum, led by Dr James Punch and our PBS Team.

These vital quarterly sessions give us space to reflect, collaborate, and drive meaningful change.
We explored:
✨ What’s working well
✨ Current challenges and behaviours of concern
✨ Areas for improvement and innovation
✨ Co‑produced strategies for safer, more supportive environments
✨ Contributions from people we support, whose voices remain at the heart of everything we do

A huge thank‑you to everyone who attended and represented their service area including central support services — your involvement helps ensure we continue progressing towards a culture of compassion, prevention, and least‑restrictive practice.

Together, we’re strengthening our shared commitment to reducing restrictive interventions and improving outcomes across all services.

Please join us in congratulating Carol‑Marie Upton on successfully completing her Level 5 qualification while delivering exceptional work across services in the West Midlands.

Carol - Marie found the programme to be well‑paced, flexible, and manageable alongside her role—an experience that contrasted with more traditional academic routes. The qualification has strengthened her reflective practice, boosted her confidence, and enhanced her decision‑making as a manager. She now feels far more equipped in applying legislation and legal frameworks within her day‑to‑day leadership.

This achievement marks a significant step in her professional development, and we’re incredibly proud of her dedication and progress.

⭐A Journey of Confidence and Community — from The Maple Centre, Day Services ⭐

We’re delighted to share a good‑news story from our Spoilt For Choice Day Service in Leicester!
SB, joined us almost a year ago after finding change and busy environments challenging. At first, he preferred one room, a strict routine, and limited community access.

Fast forward to today and the transformation is inspiring. With consistent, person‑centred support, SB now confidently explores cafés, train stations, airfields, museums, and uses public transport. These everyday experiences have opened up a whole new world of independence and choice.

A special thank‑you to the Great Central Railway, who gifted SB a free annual pass—it’s been a huge boost to his motivation and joy. He now arrives at the centre smiling, ready for the day, and brightens the whole team’s morning.

This is what patience, skilled support, and belief can achieve. We’re incredibly proud of SB and of our colleagues at The Maple Centre for making this progress possible.

🌟 L&D Spotlight Week: Meet Dan Wade

This week, we’re celebrating the brilliant people behind our Learning & Development at IBC Healthcare—starting with Dan Wade.

Dan began his care career in 2014 as a Support Practitioner, grew into management supporting vulnerable individuals, and in 2019 stepped into Learning & Development—delivering training across multiple sites and becoming a Training Manager by year’s end. Since then, he’s built training from the ground up, designing robust, fit‑for‑purpose processes that work. Today, Dan brings that craft to IBC Healthcare—shaping a Learning & Development function we’re proud of and that strengthens the quality of care we deliver every day.

👏 Join us in thanking Dan for the impact he’s made and for the difference he continues to make across our services.
