Since sharing my post on intra-oral scars, I've had many enquiries about 'buccal massage'—and I'm happy to help.

Whether you're coming in for a therapeutic reason (like chronic pain) or simply for deep face relaxation and tension relief, I am applying the principles of my Osteopathic and Advanced Scar Therapy training. This isn't a generic facial massage; it's structural and functional work informed by deep anatomical knowledge.

My Integrated Approach Includes:
Intra-Oral Release: Targeting deep muscle tension (often called 'buccal massage') to resolve chronic clenching and promote face relaxation.

Fascial Mobilisation: Using precise techniques to release adhesions (Intra-Oral Scar Therapy).

Integrated Care: Assessing jaw tension's impact on your neck (Osteopathy) and leveraging my MLD expertise to encourage lymphatic flow, which can reduce puffiness and enhance that "feel good" factor.

If you have chronic headaches, jaw clicking, or simply want the ultimate therapeutic face relaxation, you need someone who understands the deeper, interconnected anatomy.

That's the difference my integrated approach makes. Not your average osteopath.

(The video you are seeing shows deep soft tissue release on the facial structures, which gives a visual reference to the kind of specific, targeted work I perform.)

I have shared content around C-section, tummy tuck, and knee replacement scars - but what about the ones you can't see?

My work extends beyond external wounds—I frequently treat intra-oral scars that cause chronic tension and pain.

Which internal scars can I help mobilise?

My specialised Scar Therapy skills allow me to treat adhesions and restrictions from both planned procedures and unexpected events.

Trauma & Accidents:
Scars resulting from falls, sports injuries, or accidents that caused lacerations, deep bruising, or soft tissue damage inside the cheeks, gums, or palate. These can create deep, long-term tension patterns.

Dental & Oral Surgery:
Scars following complex procedures like dental implants, difficult extractions (e.g., wisdom teeth removal), or gum grafting.

Orthodontic History:
Areas where the soft tissues were manipulated, such as during frenectomy procedures or aggressive orthodontic adjustments.

These internal scars, whether surgical or traumatic, can tether the fascia and muscle tissue, leading to limited jaw opening, referred headaches, and chronic neck strain.

My Osteopathic and Scar Therapy approach ensures we treat not just the pain, but the invisible, restricted tissue that is causing the pull.

That dreaded C word.....Christmas

Yes I know, it is still only November, but this year is flying by, and the festive season will soon be upon us.

I have had many an enquiry to my opening hours over Christmas, so just an update to show the days I am working. Some slots are already open on my booking system, but if you would like an appointment on any of these days, please get in touch

Just a little update — my treatment room is getting a refresh, which began over the weekend and will continue on subsequent weekends.

This means my certificates aren’t currently on the wall, but all my qualifications, registrations and insurances are available to view. If you’re a new patient this week, please don’t hesitate to ask if you’d like to see them.

If you have a surgery date, you need your MLD dates for your recovery, and these need to be pre-booked where possible please.

I am always honoured to be asked to assist with your recoveries, and I've been doing my absolute best to squeeze in every last-minute call, but this is resulting in crazy long working days. This also means I'm slower than usual to respond to messages, and for that, I am truly sorry!

Please know that my diary runs for the year ahead, so it will never be too far in the distance to book in.

Ever wonder what happens beneath the surface as your body heals?

I have come across Scar Appreciation Day, which was first mentioned around 2019 — I’m not sure where it began, but I think it’s a beautiful idea nonetheless.

Scars tell stories of healing, resilience, and survival — whether they’re from surgery, injury, or illness.
They can carry complex emotions, but they’re also proof of recovery, strength, and life moving forward.

So today, let’s take a quiet moment to reflect, appreciate, and learn more about how scars form and how we can support their healing.

Over the next few posts, I’ll be sharing more about the stages of scar formation — what happens beneath the surface, and how gentle therapies like ScarWork and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) can make a real difference in comfort and recovery.

As always, if you think I can help with your scars, or you want to talk through what is possible, please get in touch.

What’s in my clinic bag? 🩺
As an osteopath, my “tools of the trade” aren’t fancy machines — they’re simple, reliable instruments that help me understand how your body is working.

Inside you’ll find:
🔹 Stethoscope – to listen to heart & lungs
🔹 Tuning forks – to assess nerve health
🔹 Blood pressure cuff – to check circulation
🔹 Reflex hammer – to test your nervous system
🔹 Medipins / Neurotips – to check sharp–dull sensation
🔹 Cotton wool – to test light touch
🔹 Light pen – to check pupil reactions & cranial nerves

These clinical tools mean I don’t just treat your aches and pains — I also look deeper, making sure your body is functioning safely and holistically.
