Do you feel the need to talk to somebody who isn’t going to judge you or make you feel as though your problems are too big or insignificant? Could talking to somebody impartial help you see more clearly what you feel your next move is? Is life just too much, too busy, too crowded, are you heard? I am an Accredited BACP Counsellor. I have worked with many different clients with many different needs. I have experienced many clients suffering from an array of problems, children and young people suffering from bullying, family disputes, exam pressure, social anxiety to adults suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship break downs, emotional & physical abuse to name a few. I have had much success with my clients and strive to continue to do so. I have experience working with parents in a Children Centre. I have experience working in secondary schools with children aged 11-19. I currently work in a special needs school with pupils aged 11-19 and in the NHS as a specialist oncology and palliative care counsellor where I work with trauma, bereavement, grief and loss. I have worked with Mental Health issues at MIND, a Domestic Abuse Centre and a R**e & Crisis Centre for 4 years. My qualifications and continued professional development training are listed below. Before entering into the counselling world, I worked in various different office, sales and mortgage roles. I have travelled, lived and worked in Australia and New Zealand. I am a likable person, committed to the wellbeing of my clients. I am a naturally grounded, laid back, non-judgemental person so my progression into the counselling vocation has felt like a natural progression for me. I am an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). I have regular supervision in accordance to the BACP ethical guidelines, I receive my own personal therapy and continue professional development all to make sure I offer the best practice to my clients I can. My core orientation is Person Centred however I adapt my skills depending on the presenting needs of my client. After gathering knowledge, training and experience I am able to integrate other counselling modalities if necessary. Person Centred means the session is all about you, I do not offer advice I merely join you in exploring your feelings, challenging you if need be and offering techniques that may help to make you feel better. I run a highly confidential service in Leigh-on-Sea were parking and available. We can negotiate times, length of therapy and set goals according to what is required.
