Signs you may have secondary infertility

It can take a while to realise that you’re struggling with secondary infertility, particularly if you had no problems conceiving previously and you didn’t realise secondary infertility existed.

Having one or more children can be a challenge for some, and it can be difficult to put the same sort of effort each time, like tracking your ovulation and menstrual cycle, as you did before you were pregnant.
For some couples, it can be months before they notice something is wrong.
But if you’re starting to wonder if something isn’t quite right and you’re looking for some common signs to look out for, then there are a few. The biggest sign that you’re struggling with secondary infertility is simply that you have not fallen pregnant or been able to carry a baby to term, despite previous success.
Other signs missing period, very heavy or very light periods or pelvic pain.
if you’ve been trying for some time with no success, after a year of trying (or six months if the woman is over 35), it’s recommended to seek help from a fertility specialist . Or if you would like to work with me to review your situation via an online consultation/review .

What is an Isthmocele?
An isthmocele, also known as a cesarean scar defect or uterine niche, is a pouch-like defect that forms in the uterine wall, specifically at the site of a cesarean section scar. It occurs when the incision from the cesarean section doesn’t heal completely, leaving a small cavity that can trap menstrual blood and tissue.

Key points about isthmocele:
* Cause: Primarily caused by incomplete healing of the uterine incision after a cesarean section.

* Location: Found in the lower part of the uterus, at the site of the cesarean scar.

* Symptoms: Can range from asymptomatic to causing abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and infertility.

* Impact on Fertility: The presence of an isthmocele can potentially affect fertility by interfering with s***m transport, embryo implantation, and potentially increasing the risk of ectopic pregnancy.

* Diagnosis: Typically diagnosed via ultrasound or MRI.

* Treatment: Treatment options include surgical repair (e.g., hysteroscopy, laparoscopy) to remove the pouch and promote proper healing
