… until the Halloween themed Leigh-on-Sea Striders 10K and 5k is back on Sunday 2nd November 2025 at 6pm and of course it will be more frightfully fun than ever 👻

All proceeds will support Southend YMCA, a charity who are currently in their 30th year of making a vital difference to the lives of local children, young people, and families.

Don’t forget your old running shoes. All you need to do is tie them together as a pair using the laces. There will be a JogOn donation bin at race HQ — give your trainers a second life!

LEIGH ON SEA STRIDERS 10K - Nov 2nd @ 6pm

👟 Got old running shoes lying around? Bring them to the Leigh on Sea Striders 10k on the 2nd November and drop them in the JogOn donation bin at race HQ — give your trainers a second life!

JogOn is a campaign set up to stop unwanted running shoes from heading into landfill. We are delighted to join a long list of partners supporting this campaign with a collection point at our event. Here is what you need to do:

1. Bring your unwanted running shoes.
2. Tie them together as a pair using the laces.
3. Pop them into the collection points at the event.

After the event we will send them all to JogOn.

If you forget don’t worry - anyone in the UK can send 15Kg of shoes to JogOn in the post for £3. Just pop along to their website https://www.jogonagain.com/sendusyourshoes

ONE MONTH TO GO 👻

… until the much loved Leigh-on-Sea Striders 10K is back on Sunday 2nd November 2025 at 6pm and it promises to be more frightfully fun than ever 🎃

As well as the 10k, there’s an option for a 5k race (including juniors aged 11-15) so the whole family can get involved.

This isn’t just any race. With a Halloween theme, headtorches, and a strong dose of community spirit, it’s a chance to celebrate fitness and fun in equal measure. Fancy dress is not just welcome – it’s encouraged – with a spot prize for the best costume. Expect to see ghouls, ghosts, and goblins flying around the course! Don’t forget the Prosecco and pizza at the finish line to reward and celebrate your run. 🥂

We remain one of the best value races around with the entry fee held at £20 for UKA affiliated or £22 unaffiliated, and this year a reduced £12/£14 respectively for the 5k distance and £6/£8 for Junior 11-15 year old entrants.

ITS TIME TO SIGN UP FOR THIS YEARS LEIGH ON SEA 10k! 👻

Sunday 2nd November @ 6pm

Following the success of last year, there’s also a 5k option with the inclusion of a Junior 11-15 entry for the 5k (with an adult 5k entrant).

Starting at 6pm headtorches are a must and, with our usual Halloween theme, spooky costumes are encouraged – you might even win the spot prize for the best fancy dress! 🎃

We remain one of the best value races around with the entry fee held at £20 for UKA affiliated or £22 unaffiliated, and this year a reduced £12/£14 respectively for the 5k distance and £6/£8 for Junior 11-15 year old entrants. As is tradition now our race is held after sunset and by headtorch, and because you loved it so much, we’re keeping the 5k race in our programme for those that maybe want to avoid the Belton Hills loop and be first in line for a glass of Prosecco....
