I am guessing you are here as you feel out of sync with your body. And the constant hormonal ups and downs leave you feeling frustrated and exhausted.

I want you to know you are not alone, and more importantly, you are not broken or deficient or old or washed up... or whatever term the internet will have you believe.

You are going through a wonderful transition of self-discovery.
And whilst that can be hard at times, your symptoms are simply your body's way of telling you something is out of balance. It’s an intelligent bodily response.

Yes, these imbalances can stem from fluctuating hormones. But we seem to have forgotten that we are designed to go through this peri-to-post menopause transition. Especially when we are told it’s a ‘hormone-deficiency’.

I really want you to hear this. You are not deficient in any way.

But you do need to learn to put yourself first.

You need to learn boundaries. You need to learn the power of no. You need to learn that you can’t pour from an empty cup.

You need to look inward, clear the past and visualise the future you want for the next third of your life, and step into that wholeheartedly.

And yes there needs to be some changes to diet and lifestyle, alongside some natural remedies.

But when you can do that… that’s when you will thrive.

As I approach my 51st birthday I think myself lucky for the knowledge I have acquired and the tools that I have because I have very few perimenopause symptoms.

Here's what I do:

Before diving into the causes, it's important to mention the role of testing in identifying these issues. In my Haywire Hormone Fix program, I run two essential tests for all my clients:

If you are like me and don't do well on dairy, here are some alternative sources of calcium-rich food.

But...

Bone health isn't just about calcium, we also need magnesium, potassium, sodium, vitamin K2, boron, and B vitamins alongside natural (i.e. from the sun) vitamin D.

We also need healthy stomach acid and strong adrenals to digest, absorb and transport calcium.

Our body has an innate intelligence that is always working in our best interest.

It is always communicating with us via symptoms. They carry us through the stages of life, each with its own beauty and challenges.

Peri-to-post menopause is one of those stages.

Too often, this transition is being medicalised and pathologised, treated as a condition to be feared and fought against where symptoms are suppressed.

But usually, those symptoms are telling us 'You're too stressed, you need to slow down, you need to prioritise your own self-care and you need to do it now'.

What if we listened to those messages rather than suppressed them and continued pushing through? What would that look like?

Yes, this transition can come with its share of discomfort, but it's also a transition that can bring a deeper understanding of ourselves, and a chance to reassess what's important.

For me, I am going to listen to my body and trust the journey. How about you? 💚
