In the UK, chronic open-angle glaucoma (COAG) is the most common form of glaucoma, affecting an estimated 2% of people over 40 and almost 10% of those over 75, according to NICE.

It can be readily controlled with timely intervention and is the leading cause of preventable blindness in this country. It is one of the main reasons why we should all have regular eye examinations.
