Do something today that your future self would be proud of!

Investing in yourself is vital for your wellbeing and growth, taking time to process the difficulties life has thrown at you, can help to change any unhealthy thinking patterns and behaviours we may have developed as a result of what we have been through.

in 10, 20 30 years from now, how would you want to feel when you look back on your life?

Quite often the thing that holds us back from being who we want to be and living the life we want, are our own intrusive thoughts. But! That is all they are, thoughts, we don't have to believe everything we think. Counselling can help us to look at our life from different perspectives and help us take back the control. How proud would you be, if you could look back on your life and say, I overcame that difficulty and didn't let it control the rest of my life.

Do you have a safe space you like to go to?

For me a walk up Rivington does wonders both physically and mentally. It's hard work getting there, but once you reach the top the views can be amazing when the weather is kind.

I guess that reminds me of life, life can be amazing, but then sometimes just as the weather rolls in and hides the amazing views, the difficulties we face in life, such as relationship breakdowns, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, trauma, the list is unfortunately goes on, can make life not feel great.

But, just as the weather never stays the same, the clouds do blow over, the difficulties we face in life may also change overtime or we can learn to adapt our lives to live around them.

Counselling can help us to navigate the difficulties, that are blocking our lives from looking how we want them to. To find a way to have clearer view, one that we enjoy.

We have got better at acknowledging we are struggling with our mental and asking for support, but some people still struggle to accept they need help and ask for help when they need it. If we had the flu we would take paracetamol and cold/flu remedies, if we broke a bone we could take pain relief and wear a plaster cast, so why do we still struggle to admit we are struggling with our mental health and ask for help.

You don't have to suffer in silence, the bravest step you can take, is the 1st step in admitting you need help and reaching out for support. At Trust in Counselling, we have a team of counsellors who aim to offer all our clients, a safe therapeutic space to explore the difficulties they are facing and help them navigate how to manage them effectively.

Anxiety

Anxiety can be crippling for some people, on the outside all we can see is the behaviour which is like the tip of the iceberg. But, as with the iceberg there are lots of feelings hidden underneath that no one can see. These feelings can stop us living the life we want, from being the person we want to be, they can be overwhelming and control many aspects of our lives. Quite often the feelings are driven by fear, leaving us feeling helpless against them.

Counselling can help you recognise what is driving your anxiety and enable you to find ways to manage or overcome the fear, taking back the power and not let fear rule your life.

Self Care

As we head into the weekend, what do you do to look after your self?

Life can get so hectic, it leaves us little time to look after ourselves, but it is imperative we practice self care, so we can avoid burnout. Just taking time for a walk out in nature, a Pilates class, a swim, a gym session, whatever we enjoy can do wonders for our wellbeing.

This weekend, make yourself a priority and do something to help recharge your batteries.

4th February 2026 - World Cancer Awareness Day

According to Macmillan someone is diagnosed with cancer every 75seconds!

Most people have had their lives touched by cancer in someway, it can turn people's lives inside out and upside down, leaving them feeling helpless. In some cases there are good outcomes and unfortunately for others they lose the battle, and those left behind have to find a way of living without their loved ones.

Counselling can help if you are battling cancer yourself or someone you love is, or it can help you navigate the unique terrain of grief after someone you love dies.

Contact us to discuss how we maybe able to help you navigate your cancer journey.
