Don't forget Mytime for Giving Carers a Break will be down at Bridgewater Medical Centre, Leigh on the 22nd of January between 10 -4 pm!

The team at Mytime recognize and value the vital role carers play in our community. Carers hold families together, often making huge sacrifices along the way. Mytime aims to ensure that carers access a break from their demanding caring roles.

Both Bolton and Wigan, Wrightington & Leigh hospital trusts have unprecedented numbers attending their emergency departments. Please consider your options carefully and reach out to NHS111, your GP, pharmacy or urgent treatment centres first.

Our Emergency Department (ED) is experiencing extremely high levels of activity. Please help ensure that our Emergency Department can focus on those facing life-threatening conditions.

If your condition is not an emergency or life or limb threatening, please consider using a different service for your care:

· NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week either online or by phone.
· Visit your local pharmacy.
· Use GP out of hours by phoning your own GP surgery and following the instructions on the answering machine. Alternatively, you can phone BARDOC directly on 0161 763 8940.
· Access to urgent dental care is available for patients across Greater Manchester, supported by the Urgent Dental Care Helpline (0333 332 3800).

If you feel it is necessary, you can bring one other person with you - a partner, family member friend or carer, when you attend our Emergency Department ⚠️

If you are worried or concerned about having your cervical screening test, our nurses are on hand to have a chat and help before your appointment simply call our lovely reception team on 01942 369282 to arrange your appointment.

Please also note if you are not able to attend during our surgery hours, Wigan GP Alliance also offer cervical screening appointments in the evening and weekends they can be contacted on 01942 482848.

❄️ ⛄️ With weather warnings in place across our region this week, we want to make sure our patients and all residents remain safe. If you are vulnerable, please don’t force yourself to come to face to face appointments. We can change these to telephone reviews where appropriate. If you are unable to make any appointments please do contact your GP Surgery. Check on any vulnerable family members and neighbours who may need support with shopping, keeping warm or who may simply feel lonely. Take good care of yourselves and others. ⛄️ ❄️

We would like to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you once again to all of our patients and colleagues for your kind generosity with cards and gifts on the lead up to Christmas. It is very much appreciated by all of our staff.
Please note we remain open until Christmas Eve at 1pm and re-open Monday 29th December at 8am.

Let Christmas begin! 🎄🌟

The hard working staff from the practice took some well deserved time out yesterday evening for some good food and good cheer. We were just minus our Nurse Angela whose social calendar is as busy as her work calendar 😍
Each year we say this, but the success of our team year on year is built upon their passion, drive and hard work and we simply could not do this without all of you. From the Manager and Partners, thank you all so very much. 💜 💪
