Tonsillitis in children is very common and symptoms can include:
🔴 Swollen, red and sore tonsils
🔴 Pain when swallowing
🔴 Swollen and painful glands in the neck
🔴 A high temperature of 38 degrees or more
🔴 They feel like they have a bad cold of flu

Tonsillitis usually clears up on it's own after 3-4 days, but you can help to ease your child's symptoms at home by making sure they are getting plenty of rest, drinking cool drinks to soothe their sore throat, sucking on ice lollies and taking Paracetamol or Ibuprofen.

Cervical cancer is a cancer that's found anywhere in the cervix. It's most common in women aged between 30 and 35, but it can happen at any age👩👩‍🦳

Alongside the HPV vaccine, cervical screening can help prevent cervical cancer by checking for high-risk HPV.

When you are invited, call your GP practice to book an appointment with the Practice Nurse😊

When you find out you are pregnant, it is important to see a midwife as early as possible to get the antenatal care and information you need to have a healthy pregnancy.

You can self refer for NHS pregnancy care. Once you sign up online, the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment with a midwife.

You should do this by the 10th week of pregnancy, if possible, but it’s never too late to start. If you're over 10 weeks, refer yourself as soon as you can!

💩 Bowel Screening Saves Lives 💩

Bowel screening is a simple and effective way to detect early signs of bowel cancer, often before symptoms appear.

Early detection significantly improves treatment outcomes and can even prevent cancer from developing.

If you're eligible, don't delay - completing your bowel screening test could be life-saving.

It's free, quick, and can be done in the privacy of your own home!🏡
