Rest isn't a sign of weakness.

Rest builds strength — physical, emotional, and mental.

When you recharge, you don’t just feel better… you show up better.

Let today be a reminder that slowing down is sometimes the smartest thing you can do.

We’re often kinder to others than we are to ourselves.

Today, try speaking to yourself with the same warmth you’d offer a friend.

You deserve that care too.

Today, on International Men’s Day, we want to celebrate the incredible men who make Walk & Talk for MENtal Health such a special community.

To our trustees, who guide our charity with passion and purpose.

To our volunteers, who show up with kindness, commitment, and open hearts.

To our members, who walk side-by-side, support one another, and prove every day that strength is found in connection.

You are the reason Walk & Talk exists.

You are the reason men feel safe to open up.

You are the reason lives change.

Thank you for being brave.

Thank you for showing up.

Thank you for making this space something truly powerful.

Here’s to the men who walk, talk, listen, lift each other up, and remind us all that it’s okay not to carry everything alone. 💚

You Deserve the Best of You

When you run on empty, everything feels harder.

Filling your own cup means you can give more energy, patience, kindness, and presence to the people who matter.

This week, prioritise what supports your wellbeing.

Take a Moment to Reset

Life gets overwhelming.

Taking a simple pause each day - a walk, a breath, a moment of quiet - can make a huge difference.

Give yourself permission to step back and reset. You’re allowed to switch off.

Self-care isn’t selfish - it’s survival.

It’s giving yourself what you need so you can show up for the people and responsibilities in your life.

This week, remind yourself that looking after you is essential, not optional.

This Self-Care Week, we will post you a daily quote for inspiration, reminding you to take a moment to check in with yourself — you deserve it. 💛

✅ Give members, volunteers, and supporters the chance to ask questions and have their say

Join us for a refreshing morning of walking and talking at Ivinghoe Beacon.

An ideal opportunity to meet like minded men, talk and take in the stunning views as we embark on a scenic walk together. It's a fantastic chance to socialise, get some exercise for the body and mind, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

This walk is for men aged 18 and over with a moderate level of fitness.

We will meet in the main car park on Beacon Hill (first car park on the left as you drive up Beacon Hill heading away from Leighton Buzzard) at 9.30am.

We will then embark on a 90 minute stroll up the Beacon and beyond into the surrounding fields and countryside.

We have graded this walk as difficulty 2 - Moderate, because of the steep climb up to the Beacon and the likelihood of uneven and slippery ground underfoot.

Please wear sturdy footwear (such as walking boots) and weather appropriate clothing.

"Walk & Talk for MENtal Health Leighton Buzzard" are not a counselling service, but we do provide peer support and can often signpost people to get additional help and support if required.
