I'm creating a list of those interested. Some are interested in both Mat and Barre Pilates
In Barre Pilates, the workout is driven by music, like spin, working to the beat. This creates an energising and motivational ingredient.
It's made up of segments, targeting various parts of the body.
Some segments use the Bar/ledge targeting lower body, while standing. Props can also be used; weighted balls, bands...
Barre Pilates has a strong aspect of strength and endurance and movement all the way through and therefore has a cardio element. It therefore, has a strong link with athletic performance.
Teaching points are particularly highlighted before and after segments, thereby allowing for consistent fluidity of movement.
You can take Barre Pilates alone, or separately. Ideally alongside more intensive teaching in matwork is particularly beneficial.
It's certainly fun! Mat is too! There's similarities and differences.
