Macc Care has launched a campaign to support the homeless this Christmas, and we are excited to participate. The goal is to collect and fill bags to assist those in need, with two types of bags available: Winter Warmer and New Beginnings.

Recently, our Customer Relationship Manager, Kelly visited Chris from Leighton-Linslade Helpers, who was eager to support our initiative. Chris provided us with a variety of items to help kickstart our efforts.

We will sell these items in reception, on behalf of Leighton Linslade Helpers and include the items purchased in the collection bags. This approach allows us to give back in multiple ways. This week, we had the privilege of having our maintenance man host a special session with residents to commemorate Remembrance Day. This engaging show and tell featured conversations about the history of the World Wars, focusing on topics such as evacuations and rationing.
Hearing the residents share their personal stories was truly inspiring, allowing us to appreciate the experiences they lived through as children. Due to the positive response, Rob has been invited to conduct more sessions like this in the future. The event was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you, Rob, for facilitating such meaningful discussions.

Over the past few weeks, our residents have dedicated themselves to the Leighton Rose Poppy Project. By repurposing the bottoms of old bottles, we have crafted hundreds of poppies, culminating in a stunning display to commemorate Armistice Day 2025.

On Monday, we had the honor of welcoming Alan Dill from the British Legion, Leighton Buzzard, for the unveiling of our display, which now hangs proudly outside our home for everyone to admire. The residents were thrilled to witness their hard work come to fruition in such a meaningful way.

To commemorate Armistice Day, we took our only veteran, Trevor, to the Curiositea Rooms at Page's Park in Leighton Buzzard, where BBC Beds, Herts & Bucks broadcast their breakfast show live from the coffee shop. Trevor was interviewed for the broadcast. He represented himself incredibly well. We are honored to have facilitated this trip and interview for him, and we are incredibly proud to have him as a resident in our home.
