Your kitchen already holds powerful tools for healing—you simply need to trust your instincts and begin the journey.

Lately, so many conversations around us are filled with worry—about war, rising costs of food, petrol, and everyday essentials. It’s natural to feel uncertain when people begin panic buying and preparing for the worst.

In times like these, I’ve been reflecting on simpler, more traditional ways of supporting our wellbeing—approaches that have been used for generations across different cultures.

I wanted to gently share a few plant-based remedies that are commonly used in traditional practices and can be stored for longer periods:
• Olive leaf
• Dandelion root
• Guava leaves
• Yarrow
• Soursop leaves
• Plantain leaf

These are often appreciated in herbal traditions for their general supportive properties and versatility in teas or infusions.

That said, it’s important to be mindful that:
• These are not substitutes for professional medical care or prescribed treatments
• Effects can vary from person to person
• It’s always best to research properly or consult a qualified professional before using any herbal remedy, especially if you have existing health conditions or take medication

For me, this is about reconnecting with nature, building small layers of resilience, and staying grounded during uncertain times—not replacing modern medicine, but complementing a balanced, informed approach to health.

We also teach how to use these remedies safely and practically in our Kitchen Herbalist course. If you’re curious to learn more, feel free to connect with me via DM.

Staying calm, informed, and prepared—without panic—is one of the most powerful things we can do for ourselves and our families

Today, science talks about how the gut affects mood, brain function, hormones, immunity, and overall health. But more than 1400 years ago, Prophetic medicine already emphasized balance in eating, lifestyle, and habits to maintain the health of the body and mind.

Prophetic guidance taught us:
• Eat according to the season
• Eat in moderation
• Do not overfill your stomach
• Divide the stomach into 1/3 food, 1/3 water, 1/3 air
• Eat slowly and mindfully
• Sit while eating
• Stop before you are completely full
• Do not burden your body or feed every desire

This is not just about food — it is about discipline, balance, and respect for the body.

Balance your health by following advice given more than 1400 years ago.
This is the best advice you can follow — and it brings barakah into your life.

We heard that many of you wanted to learn more about Prophetic medicine, and we are delivering this through our Kitchen Herbalist Course, which we have been successfully running for the last 2 years.

Spring is the season of renewal, and it’s the perfect time to support your liver and rebalance your hormones.

Your hormones often become imbalanced when your liver is overburdened by:
• Processed foods
• Sugar
• Stress
• Lack of sleep
• Toxins and chemicals
• Alcohol
• Poor gut health

The liver is responsible for processing and clearing excess hormones, especially estrogen. When the liver is sluggish, hormones can become imbalanced, leading to:
• Fatigue
• Acne
• Mood swings
• PMS
• Bloating
• Weight gain
• Low energy

Spring foods that support liver detox & hormones:
• Bitter greens (rocket, dandelion, kale)
• Lemon water
• Broccoli & cauliflower
• Beetroot
• Carrots
• Turmeric
• Ginger
• Green tea
• Apples
• Flaxseeds

These foods help detox the liver, boost energy, support immunity, and balance hormones naturally.

Caption ending:
Spring is your body’s natural reset season.
Support your liver, and your hormones will thank you.

Comment “HORMONES” for a full list of liver-supporting foods.

Long before modern medicine emphasized building immunity, the teachings of Islam already focused on prevention before cure. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught practices that protected health, hygiene, and community well-being centuries ago.

He encouraged:
• Washing hands before and after eating
• Covering food and water
• Quarantine during plagues (“If you hear of a plague in a land, do not enter it…”)
• Moderation in eating
• Physical cleanliness and oral hygiene (miswak)
• Fasting for physical and spiritual health

Today, science tells us these habits strengthen immunity, prevent disease, and improve overall health. What we now call public health, hygiene, and immune system care were already part of a lifestyle taught over 1400 years ago.

Prevention is always better than cure — and this was not just medical advice, but a way of life.

You filled your table with samosas, burgers, rooh afza, high fatty food and bow after ramadan you find yourself tired, bloated, sluggish.

You’re not tired.
You’re not lazy.
You don’t have no energy.

Your body just needs help after Ramadan and winter.

Your liver is in constant stress to detox all your cravings in Ramadan.

Your liver needs deep cleanse and Spring is liver season. It’s the best time to detox.

This is the time to:
• Eat greens
• Drink more water
• Reduce sugar
• Use olive oil
• Take honey
• Eat barley
• Add bitter foods like rocket and radish

This is why seasonal eating is so important in Prophetic medicine.

Work with the seasons, not against them.

We often think we are tired because we are busy, stressed, or not sleeping enough.
But sometimes the body is tired because it is overloaded.

After winter and Ramadan, spring is the season where the body naturally tries to remove waste and toxins.

Signs your body may need a detox:
• Constant bloating
• Bad breath
• Feeling tired after eating
• Brain fog
• Skin breakouts
• Constipation
• Sugar cravings
• Waking up tired
• Heavy feeling in the body

In traditional and Prophetic medicine, spring is the best time to cleanse the body gently with:
• Light foods
• Bitter greens
• Honey
• Barley
• Olive oil
• Vinegar
• Seasonal vegetables

Healing is not always about adding more.
Sometimes it’s about removing what the body doesn’t need.
