We bought crepe grills ahead of Pancake Day and today our residents thoroughly enjoyed making the pancake batter, prepping the toppings, making their own pancakes and of course the flipping competition.

The sense of independence and pride in the simple task of cooking was evident within the home today; this will be something we will be taking forward with our cooking and baking classes in the coming weeks.

Our ladies came together to celebrate each other. We celebrate the strength, determination, and resilience of woman everywhere!

We asked our ladies what it meant for them to be a woman of todayā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦..

MS- saidā€¦
ā€œPride, I am proud of how hard us woman have worked to have a fair future for daughtersā€

EH- said
ā€œ Friendships, relationships and family; without them I would not be the woman I am todayā€

HM- said
ā€œ Courage and hard graft, itā€™s not easy being a woman. You have to work twice as hard at everything whilst looking beautiful and gracefulā€

HS- said
ā€œFreedom, womanā€™s view and opinions where never heard in my time, now we can speak freely and as loud as we like, our voices are heardā€

MD - said
ā€œBeauty, we are all gorgeous woman, and uniquely beautifulā€

At Springvale we want to make this as much fun as possible; we bought a new game recently which our residents have named ā€œGranny Pantsā€ the hilarity that this has brought to the home is infectious. I have had several relatives come to me over the past week asking about ā€œGranny Pantsā€ as thier loved ones have been telling them all about it.
