Our Annual Summer Garden Party is next Saturday 23rd of August.

We would love for you all to join us in raising funds for our wonderful residents activity fund. This supports us in taking our residents on all the fabulous outings and inviting entertainers into our home.

Tickets are £5 this covers the cost of your BBQ as well as a non alcoholic drink. Please note you are welcome to attend without joining us for food the entry fee will be £2.

We will continue to accept donations to our raffle and tombola until Friday 22nd of August. We are so grateful to all who have donated so far. 🩵

Come along for a fun filled family day out, supporting our residents. Doors open at 2pm however you are welcome to join the queue from 1.45pm. This is a busy event so get along early.

At Springvale we are passionate about the continous training and development of our staff. Stephanie our Deputy Manager reached out to the Nhsggc - Care Home Collaborative team to provide Wound Care and Skin Integrity Training.

Today we welcomed the team into Springvale to provide a full day session to our nurses and senior staff. We opened up the session to other care homes and were thrilled to hold the busiest session to date with a total of 25 people attending. We are also partnered with Glasgow Caledonian University to train the nurses of the future. At present we have two second year students placed in Thistle and Bluebell; as well as 2 fabulous nurses from Singapore completing their post graduate course and enjoying a short placement in our home.

Today we said goodbye to Our Molly. Molly is a student nurse who has joined us in the Heather unit of the home for the past 8 weeks.

Establishing new relationships when living with a cognitive impairment can be scary!
Molly worked incredibly hard getting to know our residents, thier life story, likes, dislikes and goals. She built trusting friendships with them and became a great advocate in improving quality of life. Something that does not come natural to many, we have no doubt Molly will be an incredible Staff Nurse in a year or so.

We continue to work with Glasgow Caledonian University in training the nurses of the future, something that we are incredibly grateful to be part of.

Best of luck with the rest of your training Molly, we will miss you ❤️
