As always I forgot to take any photos of this mornings workshop at The Body Clinic Leominster. Thank you to all who came and shared their Sunday morning with me, it was a pleasure to meet you and chat/taste herbs for nervous system support 🤗

Still upcoming are workshops on Children’s herbal medicine and digestive medicine, I look forward to bringing lots more goodies and herbs for you to sample and take away 🌱

But for now I’m having a botanical art afternoon with my littles (can’t step fully away from the herbs can I?!)

Indian Head Massage is personally one of my favourite treatments.

It's perfect for stress reduction, improved sleep and mental clarity. It eases tension headaches, drains the lymphatic system, and improves hair and scalp health.

The roots of Indian Head Massage are deep, stretching back over 5,000 years as part of Ayurveda - a holistic system of healing originating in India. The word Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words Ayur (life) and Veda (knowledge or science).

During a treatment, I use techniques called effleurage which are long, stroking movements to warm up the muscles, petrissage which involves kneading and squeezing, and tapotement - brisk tapping or hacking to invigorate the nerves.

Combined with Reiki, this massage is deeply nourishing and relaxing, recalibrating your entire nervous system. I offer treatments both sitting in a chair and lying down, with or without oils - whatever your preference. A post-treatment hat or bobble is recommended as you'll most likely leave with wilder hair than when you started your day!

I completed my training in Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology in 1998.
I had my 2nd degree Reiki Attunement in 2000.

I offer both Reiki and Massage at The Body Clinic in Leominster, Herefordshire.

My intention is to create a space where you can take a pause from everyday life and experience the benefits of dropping your awareness into your body and receiving nurturing touch.

These benefits include slowing down your breathing and feeling calmer, noticing what parts are tender and are asking for your attention which helps to release the tension in those areas, becoming aware of your feelings, and gifting yourself the time to reflect on your life and how you are currently living it.

This brings greater self-awareness and the opportunity to make positive changes .

Scuttelaria altissima 🌱

Always so pleased to see this lovely perennial coming out of hibernation, especially as Scuttelaria lateriflora (slightly different genus but used in a similar way) is so hard to come by/expensive. By having altissima on hand I’m able to provide a medicine that will still work but not at the added expense to my patients.

In the next few years I plan to be mostly self-sufficient in herbs for my little plant pharmacy, partly to ensure that I know how well the plants have been looked after and processed but also so that I can keep prescription costs reasonable.
