FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denis Oldham, who died on 19th March 2026.

Denis was the beloved husband of Catherine and a devoted father to Victoria, Shiona, and Alison. He was a much-loved father-in-law to Derek and Ants, and a cherished grandfather to Jamie, Cammie, Robyn, and Mia.

Denis was also a highly respected Warrant Officer of 2166 Hamilton Squadron, whose dedication and service will be remembered with great pride and admiration.

A private funeral service will be held.

Denis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Golden Funeral Care are proud to announce that we are sponsoring James Paterson of Paterson Memorials đź’›

James has been a great friend and trusted partner to us, supporting bereaved families in creating lasting tributes and memorials for their loved ones.

As many of you know, James has run the London Marathon for Children First for many years — and this year is no different… except the challenge is bigger than ever.

This year, James will be running from Larkhall all the way to London before taking on his 15th London Marathon. That’s over 50 miles a day, starting on the 17th of April, giving him just one week to complete this incredible journey. On the 17th April James will be passing Lesmahagow and we ask if you’re able to come out and show your support to him as he makes his huge journey south. We will update the page with time and route James will pass through in the coming days.

Let’s make this his biggest year yet 🙌

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone all of neighbours, community and our local businesses who generously donated Easter eggs for our Easter Egg Appeal 2026.

The kindness and support from our local community has been absolutely incredible, as always, and truly appreciated by us all.

All Easter eggs were handed over to Healthy Valleys on Monday 29th March, where they will now be given to kids locally through Healthy valleys Easter events. Great to see so many kids locally will have a smile on their face and have a cracking Easter.
