Dear parent who just watched Inside the Manosphere,

The knot in your stomach is real. You are wondering whether your son has seen this content, and what it might be doing to him.

But I want to offer you something alongside the worry.
Most boys drawn into these spaces are not hateful. They are confused, lonely, and looking for something to belong to. The manosphere offers answers where there are only questions. It offers a version of masculinity that is clear and certain, even when it is deeply harmful. It names an experience of pain and invisibility that many boys genuinely feel, and then it channels that pain in destructive directions.

You cannot compete with an algorithm. But you can do something an algorithm cannot: you can stay in relationship.

Stay curious about what your child finds appealing, rather than leading with horror. Ask open questions. Sit with answers that are uncomfortable. Do not withdraw the connection, even when what they are saying frightens you.

The research is consistent on this: connection with a trusted adult is the strongest protective factor against radicalisation. Not surveillance, not device bans, not lectures.

Relationship.

You already have the most important tool.
Please do not underestimate it.
