Winter vaccines 2025/26

This winter, NHS Fife are offering flu and covid-19 vaccines to those eligible, and we urge all those who are eligible to come forward when invited.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) advises that vaccinations are offered to those at high risk of serious illness from flu or COVID-19.

📣 Practice Closure 📣

A Fife wide Protected Learning opportunity is taking place today (Thursday 18th September) 1pm - 6pm.

East Fife Medical will therefore be closed 1pm - 6pm today (Thursday 18th September).

During our closure, if you have a problem that cannot wait until we reopen at 8am on Friday 19th September, Urgent Care Services Fife will provide urgent care and support to patients via telephone number: 01592 729250.

If urgent care is required out of hours (6pm-8am), please call NHS 24 on 111.

In the event that your condition is life threatening - as always, please dial 999.

Please be aware that the East Fife Medical receptions at both sites:

📍Health Centre, Jordan Lane, Kennoway
📍Randolph Wemyss Memorial Hospital, Buckhaven

will be closed every Wednesday afternoon from 1:00pm from Wednesday 24th September.
ℹ️(Please note: the Wednesday closure is already in place at the Jordan Lane, Kennoway site)

If you have an urgent medical problem during a Wednesday closure that cannot wait until our telephone lines reopen at 8:00am on Thursday morning, our telephone system will provide you with an urgent-only contact.

If you have been invited to attend an appointment during the reception closure, please follow the signage on arrival and take a seat in the waiting area. You will be called for your appointment by the clinician.

📣 IMPORTANT UPDATE 📣

For the attention of Kennoway Medical Group and Methilhaven Surgery patients:

Please be aware that essential work to merge the IT systems at Kennoway Medical Group and Methilhaven Surgery will be taking place from Thursday 4th to Monday 8th September. During this time, both practices will be operating a reduced emergency only service.
➡️ Normal service will resume on Tuesday 9th September.

If your repeat prescription is due around the same time, we kindly ask that you order early to avoid any disruption.

For minor ailments, please remember you can also seek advice and treatment from your local community pharmacy.
