As someone qualified in Level 4 Nutrition and after studying with Precision Nutrition...

I always remind my clients β€” and myself β€” that weight naturally fluctuates throughout the year...

These are my own charts over the last couple of years, and you can clearly see I tend to gain weight over the winter months. Less daylight, colder weather, comfort foods, stress, hormones, routine changes and moving less can all play a part!

And honestly? It’s normal...πŸ€—

Your body is not failing because the scales go up...

Health is about so much more than one number...πŸ€—πŸ«ΆπŸ€—

What matters most is:
✨ How you feel
✨ Your energy
✨ Your strength
✨ Your mobility
✨ Your habits over time

Seeing these patterns has helped me become more aware going into this winter β€” not to punish myself, but to support myself better with movement, nutrition, sleep and consistency πŸ€—

No extremes. No guilt. Just awareness, balance and looking after ourselves properly.

Jiu jitsu challenges me physically and mentally...
But mostly my mind completely switches off when I am on the mat!...
Martial arts is something I have done since I was a child and it feels like home when I am doing it! πŸ€—πŸ’ͺ

But without Yoga and Pilates in my life I honestly wouldn’t be able to keep doing the things I love...🫢

A few years ago, I climbed Falkland Hill with my son and his dogs… and honestly, I struggled...

I was out of breath, 4 stone heavier, and those huskies practically pulled me to the top! πŸΊπŸ’¨

Fast forward a few years… I stood on the summit of Ben Nevis. πŸ”οΈ

At the time, I didn’t really stop to think about what I had achieved. But on the way home, my son said something that stayed with me forever:

β€œWell done Mum. I remember when we did Falkland Hill and you struggled… now you’ve just climbed Ben Nevis.”

A few months later, he climbed Ben Nevis himself β€” and he told me what kept him going was knowing that his mum had done it first. ❀️

That’s the thing about your journey…
Your kids are watching.
Your family is watching.
And without even realising it, you’re inspiring people around you...πŸ’ͺπŸ‘

Fitness doesn’t happen overnight.
There’s no quick fix, no magic solution.
It’s about consistency, showing up for yourself, and continuing even when it feels hard.
Small steps turn into big achievements...πŸ€—

One walk becomes a hill.
One hill becomes a mountain.
So if you’re at the beginning of your journey and feeling discouraged β€” keep going. Progress takes time, but it WILL come. πŸ’ͺ
