This time of year can be hectic but taking time to look after yourself can make all the difference! Treat those aches and pains before the new year begins🥂

Since I will be finishing up with my last few assessments for this semester at university I am happy to offer times throughout the day as well at evening slots.

And just like that my final placement of university is complete!✅ 80 hours - 8 weeks of working alongside the team at Raith Rovers. Such an amazing learning experience working alongside a team at this level with the help of all the fab background staff. Feeling very grateful to have been offered the opportunity to stay on for longer to keep learning and improving my skills😊

Going into week 5 of my placement with Raith Rovers, really enjoying working alongside the team, sport scientist and physiotherapist - learning lots📚

How I am prioritising my recovery after competing at the Hybrid Games at the weekend💪

💤Allowing myself to have at least 8 hours sleep each night as this allows my body to restore its energy levels and allows my body to repair any damaged muscle tissue from intense strain put on them.

🥣Focusing on rehydrating my body to replenish fluid loss, and having a good nutritious diet provides the necessary nutritions and energy for my body’s various recovery processes.

🚶‍♀️Light exercise such as walking is part of my ‘active’ recovery which reduces muscle pain and stiffness, the increased blood flow and muscle movement promotes faster recovery and keeps my muscles flexible.

💧Using the sauna as part of my recovery process promotes muscle recovery as the increased blood flow delivers oxygen and nutrients to my tired muscles.

🧘‍♀️Prioritising sessions where I focus solely on stretching and mobility helps alleviate DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) and works on relaxing tight muscles to improve my range of motion.

💪Booking myself in for a sports massage to help with all my aches and pains

Most importantly enjoying all the different parts of fitness and every day experiences that my body allows me to do!
