We are a small batch distillery. We make completely natural scents, creams and balms from flowers, bark, leaves, roots, blossom and moss that we pick in the fields, mountains and gardens that we love. Our work is a conversation with the plants. We grow, harvest and forage for our own and then distil, refine and transform their essence into singularly lovely natural scent and nourishing skincare.

We have the lovely soap dishes of Michelle Lowe paired with our soap and shampoo bars - there are only 6 of each design and they are live on the website now. We’ll send them in a lovely black box.

We’ll have our limited edition soap dishes and soaps on the website at 10am tomorrow. They are really beautiful, the dishes are slip decorated with the plants we use, with small feet and drainage holes to keep the soap in great condition. There are 6 dishes of each design available just now and hopefully the same again at the end of November. We’ve paired each with either a Shampoo bar or a Soap bar and popped them in a smart black box.

We don’t do a Black Friday free for all - it’s not how we work, we can’t afford it and it devalues what we do. We do however believe in sharing our good fortune with people who are working hard to help others. Last year we donated over £1000 over the Black Friday weekend to MSF and women’s aid by giving you a 10% discount and matching that with a donation. This year we’re doing the same with different charities. ❤️❤️❤️

We’re doing small batch hamper runs this year, working with some other really lovely makers. This one is a small cup perfect for a flat white or our Ritual Cacao, a little bowl, a kilner jar of our delicious Granola and a bag of our single origin El Salvador coffee. I really like the idea that you’ll use the kilner jar again - it’s designed for preserves. (Also can’t believe I found a song about Granola 😂)

The final session with the seaweed printed shawls completed this morning - the final unwrap with bated breath to see if all that layering over multiple sessions had worked. It did! Now for the wait before we can wash them and then all the lining and embroidery to follow.

Life as a grower and maker in Harris is a constant dance with the elements. The weather and seasons hugely affect us - no darkness in summer and little light in winter, sometimes it’s too wild to harvest so we have grown resilient in our work - led by nature. I think somehow our products embody that quiet strength that island living brings (which makes me very happy)

Our Story

We are unique in the world of skincare. We are a small batch distillery making natural scents, creams, aromatic waters and balms from flowers, bark, leaves, roots, blossom and moss that we grow or pick wild in the fields, mountains and gardens that we love in Sussex, Cyprus and Scotland. Our business has grown from a particular way of being, of gathering and noticing. It’s a slow, meditative process, a precise art that has been passed from hand-to-hand drawing on the alchemy of intuition and the wisdom of generations of healers, travellers and makers. We like to think that each small pot carries something subtly transformative - a vitality that comes from working with the seasons and harvesting by hand at just the right time; each one has the defining characteristics of a particular harvest, a singular moment. It’s important to us to really understand the language of smell and sensation. Scent is immediate, arresting, elusive and comforting. Like music, the notes of a scent, evoke memory, pull us back to particular places and speak to our emotions. We think that the best products capture the vitality and spirit of place within them. So many of us are separated from nature - our own nature and the rhythms of the natural world. For us, it’s all about the plants, community, environment and an appreciation of the inter-connectedness of us all. We hope that our products have a subtle, nurturing influence on body, mind and spirit and that everything that we make is a gentle catalyst for reconnection.
