Today is Emergency Services Day.

We are delighted to announce that Southborough in Surbiton has been crowned this year’s Aria in Bloom champion. 🏆

The team and residents have transformed their outdoor space into something truly special - a garden that has something for everyone. From vibrant flowerbeds bursting with colour, to home-grown vegetables nurtured from seed, and planting for bees and butterflies, every corner has been carefully designed to bring joy and connection.

It’s not just about the plants, but the people. The garden has become a space for events, laughter, and shared moments - whether enjoying it on the lawn, from the balcony, or through the windows.

👏 Congratulations to everyone at Southborough for creating a space that celebrates nature, community, and accessibility for all.

👏 We’d also like to celebrate our runners-up, Kingsclear in Camberley and Southlands in Bexhill-on-Sea, whose gardens were full of creativity and inspiration.

🥧🍓 Homemade Fruit Tarts! 🍓🥧

Our residents rolled up their sleeves this week to create some truly delicious homemade fruit tarts. The pastry was made from scratch, and everyone got involved in slicing up the fresh fruit to decorate the tops. 🍊🍏🍇

Not only did they look amazing, but they tasted even better — with lots of smiles (and empty plates!) to prove it. 💛

Baking together is always such a joy, and it’s wonderful to see the pride our residents take in creating treats for everyone to enjoy. 🌸

Our residents have been busy in the garden this week, potting new flowers and adding a splash of colour to our outdoor spaces. 🌼🌺

It was a lovely way to spend time together — enjoying the fresh air, sharing gardening tips, and taking pride in creating something beautiful for everyone to enjoy. 💛

🎉 Behind the scenes of our Summer Party! 🎉

Before all the fun of our Claydon House Summer Party, our amazing residents were busy working hard behind the scenes! 💛

From churning homemade ice cream 🍦, to creating delicious cheesecakes 🍰, and even making the decorations that brightened up the day 🌸 — our residents put so much love and effort into making the event truly special.

It was wonderful to see everyone getting creative and working together, and it made the party even more meaningful knowing how much of it came from our residents’ own hands. 🥰

This week, some of our residents were invited to the Mayor’s Tea Party – and what a wonderful time we had! 💛

Celebrating World Photography Day at Aria Care.

Earlier this year, we launched a photography competition across our homes to capture the heartfelt moments of joy, love, and care that make our communities so special.

The winning photograph, taken at Albany Lodge, was chosen by our Media Producer, Marcus Gilbert. Today, Marcus visited the home to present the team with their prize – a brand-new Canon camera and a photography workshop – so they can continue to capture and share the many special moments that happen at Albany Lodge every day.

Home Manager Sarah shared:

"We’re so excited to have won the grand prize. This camera will help us showcase even more of the heartfelt moments in our home, and we’re grateful to Aria for giving us this opportunity. Our photos will now look more beautiful than ever when we share them with our community."

🐾 Supporting Raystede! 🐾

Our residents have been busy raising money for the wonderful charity Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare. 💛

We were delighted to welcome Michaela from Raystede, who gave us an inspiring talk about all the amazing work they do to care for animals in need. Together, we raised funds during our fun dog show 🐶 and through generous donations from our community.

A group of our residents then hopped on the minibus to visit Raystede themselves. They had the pleasure of meeting Sue, who gratefully accepted the donations, and even enjoyed a treat in the Raystede café afterwards. ☕🍰

It was a truly heartwarming experience, and we are so proud of our residents for their kindness and community spirit. 💕

This week, some of our residents enjoyed a lovely outing to The Tally Ho for our regular coffee morning.

It was the perfect mix of good company, warm drinks, and plenty of chatter — with lots of smiles all around. 💛

☀️ Summer Party Fun at Claydon House! ☀️

A few days ago, we came together for our much-anticipated Claydon House Summer Party — and what a wonderful day it was! 🎉

We were treated to the beautiful voice of Sussana, danced along to the tunes from DJ Dave, and enjoyed a feast of delicious food and goodies. A special highlight was the homemade ice cream crafted by our talented residents — it was a hit with everyone! 🍦💛

And for those feeling a little mischievous… there was the ever-popular “Soak the Head of Department” challenge! 💦 With wet sponges flying and plenty of laughter, we raised funds for some amazing charities.

Thank you to everyone who came, joined in the fun, and made it such a special day for our residents, families, and staff. ❤️

🐰🐔 A Special Visit from PetPals! 🐔🐰

Our residents enjoyed a truly delightful afternoon thanks to the wonderful team at PetPals, who brought along some very special guests — friendly chickens and the fluffiest rabbits! 🐇🐓

There were smiles all around as residents had the chance to cuddle, stroke, and learn all about these lovely animals. We shared stories, asked questions, and enjoyed the gentle company of our new feathered and furry friends.

Moments like these bring so much joy, comfort, and connection — and we’re so grateful to PetPals for making it possible. 💖

🐾 Behind the Scenes at the Dog Show 🐾

Before our four-legged stars took to the ring, the magic was already happening here at the care home! 🎨✨

Our wonderful residents rolled up their sleeves and got creative, making colourful, cheerful signs to cheer on the contestants. From paw prints to playful signs, every brush stroke and glitter sprinkle was filled with love and excitement for the big day. 🖌️🐶

It was such a joy to see everyone working together, laughing, and sharing stories about their own pets — past and present. And when the dog show arrived, those handmade signs made the day feel even more special. 💖

A big thank you to our residents for adding that extra sparkle and heart to the event. You made the dogs (and their humans!) feel truly celebrated!
