😋👩‍🍳 love to bake! Yesterday we had a go at making our own Fig Rolls - a delicious treat of a cakey biscuit! Residents & Kate worked hard on this more complicated bake, & there is great anticipation at how they will taste - we will find out this afternoon with a cup of tea! They look delicious…. Baking is a great sensory activity, dementia friendly, sparks reminiscence AND tastes great!

🎶🤪 LOVE a visit from the - last week we were led through a ‘names’ themed hour of singing, movement and fun by Helen; this really is an amazing session, everyone laughs and sings, it’s very uplifting! Singing is a valuable tool for those working with dementia; it’s incredible to see someone on the dementia pathway remember EVERY word of an old song….

😋🍽️Yesterday’s lunch menu at was typically delicious - residents chose between toad in the hole with mash and greens, or eggs florentine with coleslaw. For dessert there was chocolate tart with chantilly crème. Chef caters for all dietary requirements/preferences, of course. We are proud of our person centred care at Lime Tree House…

😋👩‍🍳It’s a foodie kind of day at today - we marked yesterday by making both plain & chocolate chip shortbread biscuits in a baking session. And for lunch, to mark chef made a delicious cassoulet with sausage and butter beans. Resident Bridget said “it was nice, I really enjoyed it”, and resident Alan said “it was so good I had a second helping!” The shortbread will be enjoyed this afternoon with a cup of tea.

😋🍽️Wonderful Wednesday eats at today - chef Rocky made a delicious Stilton & leek quiche, or a comforting bowl of pasta carbonara for residents to choose from. For dessert there was a banana split. Of course we cater for all dietary requirements etc, or anyone who just fancies something a bit different… We are proud of our person centred care at Lime Tree House.

🎉Lime Tree House Manager Stacey, was lucky enough to win the Christmas Raffle, But has decide to give it all back to the resident for them to enjoy. Resident Linda said "Oh that just so lovely, thank you so much." Starting the new year happy😊. 🫶

🥳🎉🎆 wish everyone !! We had our NYE party yesterday with early midnight 😬. After a quiz, we watched last years fireworks and joined the countdown; sang a rousing rendition of … there was party food and a glass of Buck’s Fizz for all! The raffle was drawn, and our school holiday helpers made us a picture frame, as you can see…. A lovely afternoon! Happy New Year to you all…

🥳🎶🥰Today at we celebrate a special birthday - it’s no fun having your special day on a celebration day, so we made a big fuss of resident Ann on her birthday today… she was joined by family and enjoyed our New Year’s Eve party too! We put together a hamper of treats just for Ann - we are proud of our person centred care at Lime Tree House. Happy Birthday Ann! 🥰🥳

🏠💗🧸At we know that visiting with small children is joyous but challenging! To help out we have created two baskets full of lovely, fun, creative things for your little ones to play with. Play can also generate conversation and encourage interaction with the relative or friend you are visiting…. found in our top lounge, the baskets can be carried to a residents room if needs be. We look forward to our young visitors trying out this new resource!

💗A huge to our carer Hannah & her amazing mum Julie for the gift of two beautiful Christmas cakes for our residents - Julie donates cakes to us every year, and this is very much appreciated! These were a Boxing Day treat with a good cup of tea; resident Beryl (who knows a thing or two about cake baking) said “that was a beautiful bit of Christmas cake - I really enjoyed it…” Thank you Julie!
