https://doula.org.uk/doula/anna-vinton. WHAT IS A POSTNATAL DOULA?
I have had the pleasure of working with 5 families postnatally, each family with their own story and their own needs. I generally look after the babies so the parents can heal from a physical or emotional experience since having the baby. Or so they can get some sleep or make some phone calls or get stuff done, and just need an extra pair of hands. Someone they trust and someone who is nurturing and supportive towards their needs as a family. I love my job and I have met the most beautiful families! A postnatal doula can take your baby in the pram or the carrier to the shops grab some bread and milk whilst you have a sleep or go to an appointment , or do some kitchen tidy whilst you feed your baby and she brings you a cuppa. 💜A BIRTH DOULA will meet with you before birth for a few sessions of getting to know you, talking through your birth plan, your wishes and your practicalities of how this will work for you. She/he will be there on the end of the phone on the run up to the birth and be on-call for two weeks prior to your estimated due date and until you give birth. Where she will be there supporting you and your partner through the birth (how ever that looks and unfolds to be) . I will bring a bag of tools and knowledge to help you through. Then as your baby settles in earth-side your doula will be there to help ease you into early parenting life. IN A NUTSHELL 🥰
