Tractor Hire I went on to become Foreman at Sussex Tractors Ltd.

My name is Clive Widgery I have worked in the agricultural & horticultural industry for the past 39 years. My father worked the land for F J Cornwall & Sons and I wanted to follow in his foot steps so I started out in 1982 straight from school with Sussex Tractors Ltd and completed my 4 year apprenticeship which involved a years course at Plumpton College to gain my City & Guilds qualifications. I was the only student during that year to gain a distinction in the Plumpton College Certificate. I became a technician at Sussex Tractors Ltd and many farmers in Sussex, Surrey and Kent came to know me personally. During my time in the New Holland camp I became one of the top ten technicians in the country. I was promoted to Assistant Service Manager which I held that position for 9 years before Haynes Agricultural Ltd purchased Sussex Tractors ltd in August 2004. In 2009 I was moved to Haynes Parkwood depot as Service Manager to run the Kent based workshops and then assisted in the set up of the new Wrotham depot before Haynes Agricultural Ltd made me redundant in August 2013. The photo at the side is a photo session which I was chosen by New Holland to represent the LTA Program. I am also Forklift & Telehandler trained, Health & Safety trained and hold a qualified First Aid Qualification. I also have completed 25 years service with the East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service and been awarded 4 medals from The Queen. I was unfortunatley been ill health retired from the service after a major accident.

Agricultural & Horticultural Engineer required for a very successful agricultural engineering business. Van provided to cover East, West Sussex, Surrey and Kent areas. Full driving licence required. Good rate of pay for the correct person. Ideally a person with agricultural and horticultural experience but not essential. Training in house will be given. It's always good to see professionals taking evident care of their machinery. This very presentable Ford 7840 SLE which, judging by the bonnet decals, is still a working tractor, certainly doesn't have the look of a 30+-year-old grafter about it. The photograph was taken at this year's Heathfield Show, in East Sussex.
