🤍 Earlier in the week we looked at the idea around returning to balance for optimal health and wellbeing. We saw what kind of symptoms may arise when the Metal Element energy within us is deficient…

⬆️ Today we are going to explore what happens when the Metal Element energy within our bodies is excessive.

🥵 When this energy is in excess within us, it performs the functions of elimination and purification too severely, or with more energy than is warranted, resulting in a build up of heat.

🤧 Signs of Metal Element excess can include dry skin or mucus membranes, profuse yellow/green mucus, swollen tonsils, deep & phlegmy cough, dry constipation, or cramping-type diarrhoea.

😭 There could also be a stuffy feeling in the head or chest, skin breakouts including rashes, eczema or psoriasis, a tendency towards excess neatness, to be over judgemental, and to have persistent and inconsolable grief.

🥼 So when we identify these symptoms in ourselves or in our patients in clinic, we can choose specific acupuncture points, and / or offer lifestyle guidance to help us return to balance once more.

Your body often speaks before you even realize something is off. Fatigue, muscle cramps, hair loss, or even brittle nails can be signs of mineral deficiencies, not just “random” symptoms.

Paying attention to these signals can help you support your health with the right nutrition and balance.

🔍 Acupuncture or Dry Needling?
Know the Difference. Choose Safety.

Not all needle treatments are the same.
🔹 Acupuncturists registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) spend over 3 years in university-level training, learning over 360 classical points, anatomy, and safe needling techniques.
🔹 Dry needling is often taught over a single weekend—or worse, learned online.

⚠️ Would you trust someone with just 12 hours of training to insert needles into your body?

Look for practitioners on the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) Accredited Register—like me—who are fully insured, accountable, and committed to ongoing professional development.

🎯 Your health is too important to leave to chance.

📍 I’m a BAcC registered acupuncturist and proud to be listed on the PSA Accredited Register.

✅ Choose qualified. Choose safe. Choose professional acupuncture.
