Hi all
As you may or may not be aware we’re organising a charity ball to support research into a very rare condition affecting Olivia our daughter.
Ataxia is a neurological condition which can cause difficulties with balance, co- ordination and speech. It’s a progressive disease as symptoms generally worsen in a similar way to MS, but unlike MS it does not attract the same research funding because it so rare. There are many types of Ataxia, and there is currently no cure or treatment, which is why funding is so crucial to drive research forward. Our daughter has an extremely rare form of Ataxia called ARSACS (Autosomal Recessive Spastic Ataxia of Charlevoix-Saguenay) her whole life but this wasn't diagnosed until 3 years ago.
To help raise funds for essential research into ARSACS we’re organising a charity ball to be held at Shaw Hill Golf Club, Chorley on Saturday 11th October 2025. This promises to be a fantastic evening with great food and entertainment, an auction and numerous other prizes.
