Fiona graduated from the University of Central Lancashire Burnley in 2015 with a BA Hons in Exercise and Fitness Management after completing her two year Foundation Degree in Health & Personal Training at Myerscough College, where she was awarded Student of the Year in her class. Alongside the degree she attended several vocational training courses that complimented her studies, including Body Mas
sage, Sports Massage and Studio Cycling and was able to offer these massage treatments and cover classes in various gyms whilst she was studying. Upon completion of her degree Fiona took further massage/facial courses to increase the treatments she could offer and works part-time as a self-employed massage therapist and freelance instructor/personal trainer. Fiona has delivered chair-based exercise sessions within a variety of local nursing homes, covered classes for Age Concern and the U3A. Fiona also has a ‘Level 3 Exercise Referral Certificate’- with the aim to broaden the type of client she may be able to provide guidance to as it covers a range of health conditions. Currently Fiona delivers chair classes for two local nursing homes, Chorley Buddies (in Croston and Astley Village), Longridge Civic Hall, Blackrod Sports and Community Centre and Rosemary and Time (for over 60s and those with dementia). She also set up her own Pilates and Over 50's fitness classes locally recently. Fiona will continue with the vocational training courses and attend seminars and workshops to remain committed to her continuous professional development and the diverse needs of her clients.
