For anyone in the Bristol area who has experienced baby loss, this could be a really helpful opportunity to connect with others and get some support. Kate, who runs Gentle Footprints, has experienced baby loss herself, and now uses her personal experience and coaching training to help other women.

Hi 👋. Following my own experiences I'm really passionate about creating supportive spaces for women after babyloss & miscarriage.

My free local monthly walk and talk sessions are super close to being a reality, but to really be sure they're open and accessible to as many people that would want them I would love to chat to anyone who would be interested in attending to help me fine tune them.

It can be a really lonely journey and the support can be patchy to say the least. Its been a long term goal of mine to help extend that area of support and as such these were created.

There is no timeline, so whether your loss was a day, a month, a year or many years ago, if you wanted to join in you'd be very welcome x

If you have some thoughts or would like to know more now or when they're launched please either message me or contact me as per the post below.

Please share with anyone you feel may benefit x

Thanks so much x ❤️

Happy International Women's Day! Here's to strong women everywhere - may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them. May we also remember that part of being strong is asking for help when we need it. There is no shame in that, and when we help each other we are all stronger.
I am speaking about miscarriage at an IWD event at Hale End Library tonight, and very much looking forward to that, and to listening to the other amazing speakers.
And am also thinking about the women and families in Ukraine facing unimaginable fear and hardship.

Hello! Welcome to my page. I'm Helen, and I am a newly qualified pre and post-natal doula living and working in Walthamstow, East London. I trained and am registered with the The BirthBliss Academy.
I live with my husband, two daughters aged 7 and 12, and very needy cat. I decided to train as a doula because I am passionate about supporting people making the transition to parenthood, whether that is with their first, second or any subsequent babies. I love the phrase 'mothering the mother', and that is what I want to do, except that I certainly don't exclude fathers or non-binary parents from that extra TLC and support.
As a post-natal doula I can come into your home and be the extra pair of hands you need. That might be holding the baby while you nap, or cleaning the kitchen and doing some laundry while you cuddle your baby. It might be amusing an older sibling while you are busy feeding the baby, or it might be taking the baby for a walk so you can have some quality time with your older child. It might be filling your freezer with tasty, nutritious, home-cooked meals, or it might be running some errands or supporting you while you take your baby out to an appointment. I can also provide emotional support and am a totally non-judgmental listening ear for those times when it all feels overwhelming.
As an ante-natal doula I can work with you and your birth partner to think about birthing options and develop a realistic birth plan, to think about what you might need to have in place for after your baby is born, and to support you through a difficult pregnancy or a pregnancy after loss.
Doulas don't give advice, we help parents to develop their own unique parenting style for their own unique baby, but I can provide up-to-date and unbiased information on things like pain relief options, baby feeding, sleep and routines, and signpost you to reliable sources of additional help if you need it.
My website is under development and will be coming soon, but in the meantime please message me if you have any questions - I look forward to talking to you! https://www.thedouladirectory.com/england/london/doula/helen-ableman
