I can’t remember the last time I shelled broad beans??!

Probably when I was about 15 years old, living with my folks back in Devon. My dad Anthony grew EVERYTHING in the garden and we all thought that was normal. 🌽🥦🫛🥕🥬🍅🧅🥔🍓🍓🍓

We used to have so many strawberries we’d get sick of them and complain… “eurugjh NOT strawberries and cream AGAIN”. 😆

Wild what you can take for granted!!

I’ve been living in London for 20 years.
Gotten used to the fast pace, the hustle, money over time, convenience over quality.

Lately these days
I’m being pulled back to the old ways.
Planting, growing, harvest, seasons.
Time over money.

Time to shell broad beans for lunch.
To make a salad and eat it quietly.
That feels like a treat but I’d like it to be my staple.

THE TIME IS ALWAYS NOW

Did anyone catch this exhibition ??

It was one of the most moving and thought provoking shows I’ve had a pleasure to visit in recent years.

Sad not to take my girl as I went on a school day. Is it okay for a 15 year old to miss school to see important art??!! I feel like the answer must be yes!!
