I am passionate about working with primarily mums, fantastic at looking after their gorgeous families but in doing so have neglected themselves, their own health, fitness and happiness and found themselves with a poor relationship with food. Together we work online on a number of different aspects of health, nutrition, lifestyle and mindset to help them to feel their happiest and healthiest selves both inside and out to enable them to feel alive and energised to best show up for those closest to them every day.

Physical activity, at any time, no matter if you’re living with or recovering from cancer, is essential – I truly believe that and will die on that hill.

It doesn’t have to be burpees, running, going to the gym, sweating and breathing out your backside – a kitchen disco with the kids?! Go get it!!

There was a time where this version of me didn’t exist.
Not because I wasn’t capable — but because my relationship with movement, food and health was in a very different place.
This challenge might look like it’s about endurance, miles, and pushing limits…
But for me, it represents something much quieter (and much more significant).
A shift in how I train.
How I fuel.
And how I see myself.
I’ve shared a bit more about that side of the journey in a blog — including parts of my story I don’t often talk about, and why this challenge, and the work we do through MOVE, means so much to me.
If you’d like to read it, the link is below ✌🏼🌻🖤

Seek the gift 💫 🚴🏽‍♀️

It might be a tough day out there – long, windy, rainy, not enough fuel, not enough time.

Where in all that is the gift?

Just look around you! ✌🏼🌻🖤

It’s THIS SUNDAY team.

I know it isn’t convenient for everyone (there is literally no convenient moment to organise these things!), the time might not work, you’ve got the dog, you’ve got the kids (BRING THEM!) but please consider joining us if you are able to.

A walk, a trot, a coffee and a chat, whatever it looks like for you – you are so welcome. A little movement and some community is all it is.

I’d simply love your support.

We all want changes and we want them right now, be it training improvements or eating well for a few days and expecting miracles.

Well…if you’ve followed along for a while here you will know that we have preached for a long time that isn’t realistic and almost never happens to produce the long term, sustainable results we all want.

This is good news though – it means change can be super simple!!

We’ll be here continuing to preach tiny daily habit improvements make a big old difference, and the latest research shows us exactly that, particularly in relation to our heart health with a big study published this year.

So next time you consider cutting out an entire food group or a ‘diet’, what about, just one extra portion of veggies per day? Trying to get to bed that tiny bit earlier? Moving your body through the day for just 10 minutes more?

Consistency beats perfection…every time.

No big overhauls, small, consistent building ✌🏼🌻🖤

My lovely sister worked on this behind the scenes for me because I’m a technology dinosaur.

Makes it feel all a bit real, doesn’t it?

This is the route as it stands – a very higgledy-piggledy journey from Edinburgh to London, linking teenage and young adult cancer centres along the way – cycling, running and swimming.

Around about 900 miles in 10 days – obviously not designed to be the fastest or the easiest but the most impactful, connecting places and people and to raise lots of awareness and funds for the work that MOVE Against Cancer do, supporting young people to rebuild their lives through physical activity during and after cancer treatment. It’s a vision I truly believe in, as many of you know, it’s my life’s work at this point.

There are still a couple of bits to figure out and I’m sure the route might need to change here and there, especially along the way, but we are ready for that.

If you’d like to come and join in for any stretch, you are so welcome, no matter how big or small, or even if you just want to cheer along the way. If you’re somewhere along the route, just give me a shout! ✌🏼🌻🖤

We are back outside (mostly!!) and doesn’t spring cycling just feel like magic for the soul?

Fesh air, a few hills, slightly numb fingers (still!), and that reminder of why we do this stuff.

Moving, seeing new places, covering new ground, growing confidence – cycling changes my mental state in an instant if my brain isn’t feeling too hot.

Dodgy roads, terrifying driving, still a little bit of a chill in the air – getting out when you’re still not quite ready feels good too, doesn’t it?

I chatted about being back outside with and .567 from recently – we also spoke a bit more about the “why” behind the project I’m currently in the midst of and what this all means beyond the miles and the training. Link is below if you fancy a listen!

Because as much as this starts with getting back out on the bike, this chat was about something bigger than that! Mental health, physical health and of course, the charity all of this is for. ✌🏼🌻🖤

For clarification, at the beginning we were discussing running being my strongest discipline, not cycling…yet 😅

Training didn’t feel sharp. I’ve shown up though and ridden the wave of the slump…manifesting that today is a new day, I’m sinking a coffee and a bagel as we speak and I’m ready to go!

This last week wasn’t perfect, definitely not full capacity, not the ‘aggression’ I like to hit training with these days – especially with events coming up thick and fast event before my MOVE project as part of the bigger goal of longer days of moving.

What this week was, is consistent.

Telling myself that consistency beats intensity every time – life is rarely perfect, if ever.

I’ve preached consistency for a long time but more and more I’m seeing how much that actually matters. Having a jolly good coach to keep you going helps too 💪🏼

Quietly keep moving team ✌🏼🌻🖤

A few people have already messaged about the Community Run which is so lovely 🥹

But I also know there are people looking at it, mulling it over thinking, I’m not fit enough, I won’t know anyone, I’ll probably be the slowest – all the stuff that goes through all of our minds with group fun and games!

So just to say — this is not that kind of event.
It’s a relaxed 5km. No pace groups. No pressure. No expectations.

You can run, jog, walk, chat the whole way round… it genuinely doesn’t matter.

It’s just a chance to move your body, meet some like-minded people and be part of something meaningful from the start.

We’ll start and finish at Melbourne, and most importantly we will get coffee at the end ☕ (the main event, always!)

If you’ve been thinking about coming but weren’t quite sure, get on it! We’ll keep it small so if you’d like to come just let me know and we’ll get you a spot.

I’d love to have you there ✌🏼🌻🖤

We talk about being kind to ourselves and choosing physical activity options that we enjoy – that’s super important for health, mental and physical and longevity in the game.

BUT if we aren’t putting ourselves under a stimulus to grow and improve, how can we ever expect change? ✌🏼🌻🖤

One of the most valuable decisions I’ve made while preparing for my upcoming endurance challenge has been working with another nutrition professional – the wonderful .helen

On paper that might sound unnecessary. I’m a nutritionist myself, and I spend much of my working life supporting others with their health. But when training volume increased and performance becomes a priority, having an external expert perspective becomes beyond valuable.

Preparing for a 900-mile multi-discipline endurance challenge means the demands on my body are constantly changing and the reality of balancing that alongside work and day-to-day life is a struggle, no matter what your knowledge!

Nutrition isn’t always about knowledge — it’s about application, structure and consistency, especially when training load increases and life is life-ing! You can know all the things in the world but the application of it is the hard bit, THAT is where a coach comes in.
A few things for us that have stood out already:

• Carbohydrates are performance fuel - when endurance training volume rises, carbohydrate availability and timing becomes critical for maintaining energy, intensity and recovery.

• Fuel before you feel empty. NEVER feel hungry. Waiting until you’re exhausted or depleted is too late — consistent fuelling supports performance and adaptation.

• Recovery is part of the training plan - What you eat after sessions influences how well you adapt and how ready you are for the next one when training volume is so high.

As the training builds towards the challenge — which aims to raise lots of awareness and many pennies for — I’m grateful to have Helen’s expertise guiding the fuelling side of the project ✌🏼🌻🖤

ROAD TO THE MOVE CHALLENGE: COMMUNITY RUN #1 ☕🏃‍♀️

Run, walk or jog alongside me as I build towards the MOVE Challenge.

This isn’t a race.

It’s not performance-led, of course.

It’s just 5km (or even less if you just fancy a little bit!) of relaxed movement, followed by coffee and good chats.

📍 Meet at Melbourne, Lichfield
🕘 Sunday 12th April, 9am
🏃‍♀️ Jog, run or walk — all welcome
☕ Coffee afterwards (non-negotiable if you know me!!)

£10 suggested donation via my JustGiving page.

One donation could fund resistance band packs for young people rebuilding their strength at home after cancer treatment or support a young person through a session with a dedicated cancer rehabilitation specialist.

This is for anyone who:
• Cares about the cause
• Wants to move gently
• Fancies meeting like-minded people
• Wants to be part of this project from the beginning

Come and be part of something bigger — right from the start, I’m excited!
