Ukrainian Wellbeing Workshop – Making an Impact

Our recent Ukrainian Wellbeing Workshop went really well. It was both meaningful and engaging, providing a space for participants to explore the topic of wellbeing in a warm and safe environment.

The intimate setting encouraged deeper, more personal discussions, allowing everyone to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences.

At the end of the session, participants reflected on their learning and shared kind feedback. One participant said:
“The seminar was very warm and useful, it helped me understand my emotions better and treat myself with more care.”

Feedback like this demonstrates that even smaller groups can have a significant and lasting impact.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making the workshop such a supportive experience.

Ukrainian Chatty Corner — Update💛💙

After more than six months of regular gatherings, our Ukrainian Chatty Corner is drawing to a close.

🗓 Our final session will take place on 11 March.

Over this time, Chatty Corner has become much more than a group. It has provided a warm, supportive space for Ukrainians living in Lichfield and the surrounding area, offering:

• Gentle conversations over a cup of tea
• Creative activities, including painting on stones
• Open discussion, mutual support, laughter, and a genuine sense of belonging

It has been a kind, welcoming and safe space, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part and helped make it so special.

💬 “It was a place where you could simply breathe out, feel safe and understood. These meetings became a real source of support for me.”

Thank you to everyone for your warmth, openness and participation. While this chapter is coming to an end, the connections and memories created will stay with us.

Kerry and Emma had a really positive session with some Young Engineers this week, delivering our Emotional Wellbeing Toolbox presentation.

During the session, they explored the “Stress Bucket” model, looking at how pressures can build up and “spill over” if we don’t have healthy ways to manage stress. They also discussed the Five Ways of Wellbeing and why these simple, practical actions are so important for maintaining good mental health.

We were given a very warm welcome by Grace Williams and Will, who introduced us and shared more about the pastoral support and guidance they provide to the engineers. It was great to see the strong support systems in place for the group.

Thank you for having us, we really valued the opportunity to connect and share our work.

This week is Eating Disorder Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is Community.

Community highlights the vital role that family, friends and wider support networks play in helping someone feel supported, understood and never alone, from reaching out for help, through treatment, and beyond.

Recovery is not something anyone should face in isolation. The right support can make a meaningful difference.

If you or someone you know needs support, you are not alone.

📢 Chatty Corner Update

Please note, we won’t be running Chatty Corner on 18th March as we’ll be holding our Big Dig on that day.

Our final Chatty Corner session in Lichfield will be on 25th March.

We’re also excited to share that we’re hoping to start a new Chatty Corner from May at a new location (TBC), to better support those who haven’t been able to travel to Lichfield.

A huge thank you to The Hub at St Mary's for hosting us and helping us create a more joined-up community, we’re so grateful for your support 💛

❤️ This Valentine’s Day, choose to love yourself.

In a world that often tells us to put everyone else first, today is a gentle reminder that you matter too.

Loving yourself can look like:
💛 Taking a break when you need one
💛 Reaching out instead of struggling alone
💛 Setting healthy boundaries
💛 Letting go of self-criticism
💛 Accepting support from your community

Not everyone finds Valentine’s Day easy. If today feels tough, please know you’re not alone. There is strength in connection, and there is courage in asking for help.

Let’s make this a day not just about romantic love, but about compassion, kindness, and looking after our mental health together.
