After just a few days of using my BeechBand I have noticed a difference in my movement and rigidity. Hopefully I continue to see even more improvements in the coming weeks as my brain gets more used to it.

I have my new BeechBand ..... here it goes ..... 🤞

A great way of demonstrating the the 3 states of Parkinson's.
1. Off
2. Surplus
3. On

People with Parkinson's go through these three states multiple times a day. For me the first two stages can last an hour or more.

World's Parkinson's Day. Raising awareness of this torturous neurological degenerative disease. In the hope of creating a better understanding and acceptance for those of us who live with it every second of the day.

Looking back on 2 years ago I realise how much strength I got from the support of my family and friends, thank you everyone!

Life gets harder, symptoms intensify, but I will take those moments of 'On' time and enjoy them.

This is like looking in a mirror for me!

Please watch my amazingly strong and genuinely lovely friend show how the fluctuations in symptoms of Parkinson's can change so dramatically not from day to day, but from minute to minute.

When we are on our 'Off' time and tablets are not working, the rigidity, pain and slow movements which consumes our whole body is like torture. The fact it happens every few hours, is both mentally and physically challenging.

So if you see us walking normally, watching our kids enjoy their sports on a cold weekend or getting all dressed up ready for a nice get together with friends. This is us making the most of those beautiful moments where our bodies are actually behaving themselves, and believe me, if it wasn't for grabbing hold of those precious moments, life would be even harder.

Thanks Young Happy Parky for sending such a powerful message.

I absolutely love being creative with glass, it's definitely becoming a passion of mine. There are endless possibilities to create amazing works of art, stunning coasters or mesmerising suncatchers. All with the support and encouragement from the wonderful Danielle. Then after a short wait, see the transformation when you collect your creation. You will be so pleased with it I'm sure!

The Elements Glass Art Workshops

Hey there...

Thanks for following my story and for your support in establishing my glass business at Curborough Countryside Centre 🙂

My creative journey with glass began in 2016, when I found time to try different art and craft classes. I was quickly enamoured by how glass transforms in the light, and the endless creative possibilities within this such a magical material.

Over the past few years, I have developed my experience and creative practice, sold at markets, stocked in shops and galleries, completed courses, worked with schools and ran mobile workshops at both peoples houses and various venues across the Midlands. I have accommodated hen dos, baby showers, weddings, birthdays and groups of friends and family who just wanted to try something new or different.

This ignited my passion for helping people to prioritise creative time for themselves in their busy lives, improving wellbeing and creating lovely memories for special occasions.

Having taken on a studio space, I love running workshops and have been playing with lots of different glass types and have plans to share them all with you! I have been working with sheet glass, stringers, frit, powders and metals, to bring you the opportunity to try making your own practical or decorative glass decor. I also specialise in glass painting which is currently my favourite technique.

All glass is fused in a specialist glass kiln and no experience is needed.

Come say hi sometime and feel free to get in touch if I can help you with a creative workshop, special occasion, personalised piece or a bespoke commission.

p.s. The road is now open!!

When the reality of living with constant uncertainty starts impacting on your ability to cope with the usual day to day events and challenges of life.

Worries mutate into irrational fears, physically taking your breath away the moment they appear.

Uncontrollable tears, once flowing from laughter, are replaced by those of overwhelming dread and anxiety.

Longing for nightfall to bring an hour or two escape from constant thoughts and emotions. Whilst at the same time dreading the quietness, where no distractions can help keep feelings at bay.

This is currently my reality, but hopefully not for too long. I will dig deep to bring back my positive thoughts and emotions.

Come on positivity, I know you are there somewhere! Time to start climbing to the top again!

I've really enjoyed trying out different ways of being creative. Whether it be using experimental techniques in painting, acrylic pens on a black canvas, pottery, making a felt gonk doorstop or a fused glass eye!
