🌕Despite what Hugh Grant initally states in about a boy, we are not islands. The world we live in promotes isolation. Promotes an idea that we should be able to do it alone. It is complete BS and IMHO a way to continue to do unspeakable awful things to this world and our people without too much uproar 🤮💔😭
💫But our nervous systems are wired for connection. To ourselves, to others, to the world. We cannot heal alone. We cannot live fully alone. And neither can we heal without recognition of the part we play within it all.
Attachment trauma may have wounded our feeling of safety in connection but the most incredible thing about this is, we are also wired for self healing. Meaning we can relearn safety within our body, towards other bodies, towards the world.
🌎 But we cannot chose which parts we want to accept. We need to a find a way to make relationship to all parts of ourself, the world and others: the dark and light. We might not always like what we find. But it is in finding all of this that we find our way back home to wholeness, to power, to the mystical wonderousness this world has to offer. There are horrific things going on in the world, it is our responsibly to be the voice, the rage, the drive towards a better future

When we have been stuck in freeze mode, (which happens when we’ve experienced trauma) accessing our emotions, feelings and sensations can feel really difficult. We’ve kept numb for a reason.

But by working bit by bit, slowly slowly, to reconnect back to ourselves and our body opens up a whole new world (this is not an exaggeration!)

A fundamental part of that healing is allowing ourselves to connect back to the absolute joy this world offers every day

This morning, I stood outside with my son, whilst he was busy looking for bugs, and I felt a tad dysregulated (from morning routine, Iykyk), without consciously meaning to, I stood bare foot on the ground, centred myself, with my face in the sun and I was transported back to an incredibly joyous and wondourous time on my honeymoon with my husband (slide 2).. this instantly not only calmed me, but made me feel so incredibly alive and appreciative of the morning, in the sun, with my son and the bugs

Give yourself to chance to feel really fully alive! And if you recognise your walking numb through life, therapy working somatically with your nervous system can be the 🔑

Let me be very clear, this is no man bashing. I am fully aware, at times painfully aware, men have their own nuanced struggles. I have the privilege and honour of knowing some of the best souls on this earth that are men. But I have also been, as so many of my precious women have been, hurt on so many levels by men. And I’m tired. So I’m making it my mission to to not only point out the damage caused but also help women expand their own unique awareness so they know it isn’t about how to fit into a male dominated society, but how to to breathe their own incredible LIFE-FORCE into a renewed system. A system to know more depth, freedom, creativity and love. Your strength doesn’t take you away from your femininity, your strength IS your femininity.

Let me be very clear, this is no man bashing. I am fully aware, at times painfully aware, men have their own nuanced struggles. Understanding yourself is really cool 😎 but have you ever tuned into your body and let it speak? 🤯🙌🏼🙏🏼♥️ We can pay far more notice to our thoughts, our conciousness that has sadly often been indoctrinated by toxic beliefs, leading to a stuckness in healing or even working against us. We can even start hiding behind “what we know”, our theories and philosophies. But when we tap into our body’s profound wisdom, yes, it can be f£ uncomfortable, but my goodness is that not the way to freedom?! Your body knows the way

Get to know the wounds, work on healing them, giving them time, attention and love 🧡.. and work on regulating your nervous system so you can give yourself the space needed when triggered to ask yourself, “is this (insert emotion) from past experience or present situation”? 🤔 easier said then done sometimes (I definitely know 🙋🏻‍♀️, so does my partner 😬) but we are a working progress and that is being beautifully human 💁🏻‍♀️🙏🏼

Understatement of the century 💔 We need to start looking after each other more … but this can also feel hard when we are so exhausted from not having the support we need - where does it begin and end? But I think a huge step is acknowledging where the system is failing us (a clue, many, many places) and in doing this, we can start thinking about where the gaps are and how we can fill it ourselves - which will often reflect the gaps / wounds / voids in your own personal experience 🫢 There’s a conversation to be had around boundaries, how we give care and accept care and where the balance is. We are wired for a 28 day (there or there abouts) cycle, yet we live in a system that has been designed on a 24 hour cycle (which is the male hormonal cycle fyi, surprisingly) … the more attuned we can become to our cycle, the more we can flow through life harnessing the gifts our body has to offer, without the punishment and shame that comes up from expecting our bodies to be pushing against a brick wall. Locate your pain, locate your anger. It has an incredible purpose. So many of us swallow it, and let it fester, or become numb or our very own pet ball of anxiety 😵‍💫🫨 But once we connect to it, we can use it to unleash our own source of magic into the world ✨ (even if it’s just for our own benefit) Feeling it is the key. Feeling it, using it, moving with it. You don’t have to fear it. Don’t let that person, those people, that system continue to suffocate you. Use it to spark your 🔥. Creativity at its best comes from the darkest moments, don’t let it go to waste
