Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. It helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills.🧠

The benefits of sensory play for babies and toddlers are: supporting brain through tactile play (useful when children want to hold a pen or use scissors for example). Supporting language development, communication and social skills. 🗣🖊🧠 🙌🏻

A little time out with friends, a laugh, a reset… and a gentle reminder that it’s okay to step away and refill our own cups too 🤍

To all my fellow mums - it’s okay to take a break. It’s okay to have fun. It’s okay to be you, outside of being “mum”.

We give so much of ourselves every single day, often without even realising… and we deserve these moments. Moments to breathe, to laugh, to feel like ourselves again.

Because when we take that time, we come back lighter, calmer, and with even more love to give 💫

So here’s your reminder, say yes to the night out, the catch-up, the little bit of time that’s just for you… you deserve it 🤍

We’re BACK for a brand new term and what a start we’ve had in Rugeley ! 🧺🫧✨

Our Social Tots got stuck straight into some household fun 🏡 hanging out the washing and washing up ! So much giggling, exploring and learning through play 💙🧡 We finished off the class with some magical bubbles ! 🫧

Sleep 💤 it’s one of the most talked about topics when you're a new parent isn’t it! We all know that babies need sleep to grow and develop, but did you know that it’s likely your baby will sleep more deeply and soundly after their baby class with us?

Why? Our classes provide a wide range of stimulation, appropriate to your little one’s age. They’ll see new sights, encounter new sensory experiences, take in the different surroundings and enjoy lots of engaging activities. Sleep is how they process everything, and get ready for their next adventure!

Lots of our parents tell us that their baby sleeps well after class, so you might be surprised at how much “processing” they do after a session of exploring and learning - great for their development, and perhaps a few minutes for you to rest a little too! 💖

Hi I’m Lynn, I live with my husband and two daughters, Evie and Sophie, near Cannock. I run classes in the Lichfield/Cannock area. I am a qualified primary teacher with over 12 years of early years education experience, but after the birth of my first daughter, I realised that I would like a more family friendly career that still allows me to use all my experience and expertise in working with young children. I always enjoyed the challenge of planning different activities for young children as I love seeing their faces as they explore and discover something new, so when I learnt about Tots Play I knew I’d found the answer I was looking for.

As a first time mum, I found attending different classes invaluable, especially in the beginning, with creating a special bond, making new friends and giving me ideas of things to do at home that would stimulate and excite my new baby daughter. As Evie has grown up, I know that the experiences I gave her when she was so young have helped her become a happy, confident and intelligent little girl. She is now always looking for things to include in the different sensory collections we use in our sessions and I get extra mummy points when she can help me make some of the resources. Second time around, I love that I have the opportunity to share the amazing techniques and ideas with my new baby daughter, Sophie. It has definitely given me more confidence and I know that she will really benefit from everything that I do with her. Best of all her big sister and my husband can join in too.

I am so excited to bring Tots Play classes to Lichfield and Cannock as it is the perfect mix of all the things parents, babies and toddlers enjoy and benefit from. The programme offers classes suitable from birth up to 2.5/3 years of age, so there is a lot to choose from. I have been running classes for 5 years now and am passionate about what I do, and strive to make every class special and use all my experiences as a teacher and a mother to help and support the parents, babies and tots to learn, develop and have fun together. I feel so privileged to have been involved with so many families. It’s been wonderful to watch tiny babies grow and develop through our baby development course and Discovery Tots classes, into confident, fun loving toddlers at Social Tots and know that I have played a part in their development.
