What reeeeaaalllyyy works to get those natural birth hormones going?
Spoiler alert ๐จno one really knows for absolute sure, because Mother Nature is a Wiley old bird and she likes to keep some mystique to things. BUT we do know that we need Oxytocin (love hormone) abundantly, with a little helping hand from its friends Endorphins and melatonin. So what can you actually do?
โจ PROTECT THOSE HORMONES โจ
As your due date approaches, firstly take the pressure off- donโt fixate on that โdateโ as itโs counterintuitive to build pressure on that one day. Think of it as a due window ๐ช and just relax ๐งโโ๏ธ
Surround yourself with people who allow you to feel calm and relaxed. Your body is sensitive to stress and angst, so if youโre around people who make you feel anxious/edgy/nervous, make excuses to give them a wide birth (no pun intended!) whilst youโre trying to get into the birthing headspace. You need to feel nurtured, safe and peaceful ๐
Create a cosy, safe and calm environment, Christmassy films, twinkling lights, minimal disturbances and just lean into the birthing headspace โ๐ผ
