We are all talking about Ukraine right now and it can be hard to know how best support our children. This article gives some useful tips and is worth a read
❤️Be mindful of your reactions as a parent or caregiver: we need to coregulate our children and share our calm to support them
🧡Be honest with your child- with age appropriate information and without overloading them.
💛Use storytelling to help children relate- children understand the world through play and stories. This will help them understand
❤️Encourage them to talk about their feelings and concerns without dismissing their feelings- let them know that they can speak to you about their worries and you will listen
🧡Prioritise play- this makes so much sense. There are so many therapeutic benefits of play- it helps manage stress, it produces positive emotions, it helps the overcome their fears and helps foster emotional wellbeing. Play Play Play

Today AQE test results came out- and what a few years of stress and uncertainty have our P7’s not had to face! For a developing brain this has not been an easy world to navigate. For those celebrating, be proud of your successes, for those who are disappointed remember your grades don’t define you. Tests don’t measure some of the most important qualities human beings possess ❤️🧡💛

Love this play dough recipe- and children love it too! It needs to be cooked so unless your playroom has access to a kitchen you can’t make it with the kids. Great to make in advance.
It’s perfect to make at home with your kids. I buy cream of tartare in bulk as not all supermarkets stock it. ❤️🧡💛

1/2 cup salt
1 cup plain flour
2 tbs cream of tartar
1 cup water
1 tbs oil
3 drops liquid food colouring

❤️Mix all ingredients together in a medium-sized saucepan.
🧡Stir over heat until dough is pliable.
💛Allow to cool, and store in a well-sealed plastic bag or container.

I got this one from Australias best recipes https://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipes/playdough-recipe/oyycpq9f

Oh no! The Colour Monster is very confused - its emotions are running riot and monster is feeling everything all at once. Let’s hope the little ones in my group today can help untangle some of these big feelings, helping monster feel calmer and more aware.

We all need a little help when we are in a muddle, especially when our monsters come out to play ❤️🧡💛
