A friendly face at Winton House 🐾🐶

There was a wonderful atmosphere at Winton House - Abbeyfield Maidenhead this week as the residents welcomed a very special visitor. Barney the therapy dog arrived with a wagging tail and plenty of affection, much to the delight of everyone he met.

Spending time with Barney is always a highlight for the community. His gentle nature and quiet companionship offer a great deal of comfort, making his visits something that everyone looks forward to. It was a lovely afternoon that left plenty of smiles across the house.

Perfecting the putt at The Grove ⛳

The residents at The Grove enjoyed a change of pace with a session of indoor golf. The session offered a gentle way to keep moving, helping to sharpen coordination while enjoying some lighthearted competition.

Highland Games come to Fern House at Abbeyfield The Dales 🏃‍♂️

Residents at Fern House found a unique way to celebrate the run up to Burns Night this year by hosting their own caber tossing competition. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with spirit and cheers as everyone joined in the Highland-themed fun.

There was plenty of laughter and encouragement as everyone had a go at the traditional Scottish sport. It proved to be a fantastic way to bring people together for some lighthearted fun and a bit of friendly rivalry!

Time for a recharge at Winton House - Abbeyfield Maidenhead 🌿

There was a lovely atmosphere at Winton House as residents gathered for a relaxing foot spa session. The afternoon was all about comfort, with soothing foot and leg massages helping everyone to sit back and completely unwind.

It was the perfect excuse to slow down and enjoy a bit of pampering, leaving the residents feeling refreshed and ready for the rest of the day.

Raising a glass for Burns Night at Abbeyfield Wessex Society 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥃

It was a memorable evening for the Abbeyfield Wessex Society as residents and friends gathered to celebrate Burns Night in traditional style.

The table was set with a variety of Scottish favourites, including homemade morning rolls and a main course of hearty haggis, neeps, and tatties, served with a Drambuie whisky sauce. To finish the meal, everyone enjoyed a classic cranachan pudding before raising a glass of whisky to toast the occasion.

A quiet moment of wonder at Abbeyfield Silverdale Society ✨🦌

They say nature is the best neighbour and we have to agree! Cove House's residents were treated to a beautiful visit when these graceful deer decided to wander through the garden.

There is something so peaceful about them graze in the silence. It's moments like these that remind us of how lucky the community is to be situated in such a stunning part of the world.

Celebrating Burns Night at Abbeyfield House Great Missenden 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎷

The spirit of Scotland arrived at Abbeyfield Great Missenden last Saturday for a special Burns Night celebration. The afternoon was filled with tradition, starting with the iconic sounds of the bagpipes to set the mood.

One of the highlights was a reading of the Selkirk Grace by resident Liz, which led perfectly into a celebratory haggis lunch. It was a lovely afternoon of tradition and good company for everyone involved.

Tea, cake and ten species☕🍰🐦

There's nothing quite like a crisp January day spent by the window. On Friday, residents at Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society's Nower House gathered in the conservatory for the and it was a full house!

With the help of their Community Liaison, Abbie, and their feeder they managed to count 23 birds across ten different species, including blackbird, blue tit, great tit, dunnock, herring gull, jackdaw, woodpigeon, magpie, carrion crow. The highlight of the day was spotting a Goldcrest, the UK's smallest bird.
