Vote now in the BMA referendum on the 26/27 GP contract. This is your future!

Vote now to have your say on the 2026/27 GP contract which is being imposed on GP practices in England.

GPs are being asked to do more and more, list sizes and GP-to-patient ratios are expanding while continuity of care is shrinking. This referendum – taking place from 4 to 25 March – will give GPs and GP Registrars across England the opportunity to tell the Government if their approach has been acceptable or whether the Government should return to direct negotiations with the GPCE to jointly develop a better contract for GPs in England.

Have you received an email from Civica, with your voting link? If not, check your junk folders and contact GPContract@bma.org.uk if you don't have one.

Find out more on our website, where you can also sign up to one of our webinars https://www.bma.org.uk/gpcontract

If you are not currently a BMA member, the last date you can join to be able to vote is 19th March. Do not miss your chance to have your say. Join at: https://www.bma.org.uk/join-us? even if you then cancel membership once you have voted.

One of the easiest ways to create happiness is by spreading a little kindness 💛

Small gestures can make a huge difference. Here are a few simple ideas to brighten someone's day.

✨ Send a message to someone you haven't spoken to for a while.
✨ Compliment someone.
✨ Offer to help a colleague.
✨ Buy someone a coffee.
✨ Say thank you to someone who has recently helped you.

Kindness doesn't have to be big or complicated. Sometimes the smallest actions can make someone smile.

If you would like more ideas of random acts of kindness, take a look at our website: https://www.lincslmc.co.uk/wellbeing-and-support/ways-to-wellbeing/ -giving

If a senior member of your team left tomorrow, who could step up?

Are your managers and team leaders equipped to lead through increasing operational pressures?

We’re pleased to share that our Level 3 Team Leader and Level 5 Operations Manager apprenticeships are open for applications and currently advertised on our website:

https://www.lincslmc.co.uk/p-category/event/

These General Practice focussed programmes offer a valuable opportunity to develop practical leadership and operational management skills, fully supported through the apprenticeship framework, with additional benefits such as:

🔹Access to the LMC Practice Manager 🔹Development series of live contextual training sessions
🔹LMC coaching and pastoral support.
🔹Bespoke one to one support upon request.
🔹Funded IGPM accreditation opportunity and application preparation support.

You may be aware that there has been ongoing national discussion around potential changes to government apprenticeship funding, particularly in relation to management programmes. While no formal announcements have been made, there is a possibility that funding arrangements could change in the future.

With this in mind, this intake may represent one of the final opportunities to access these management apprenticeships. We would therefore encourage anyone who has been considering enrolling to review the details and submit an expression of interest in good time.
