👂✨ Did you know… treating hearing loss could help prevent falls?
A brand-new study in The Lancet Public Health looked at older adults (ages 70–84) with hearing loss. Some were given hearing aids and proper support, others weren’t. 👉 The group with hearing aids had 27% fewer falls over 3 years.
That’s huge — fewer trips, fewer injuries, and more confidence moving around day to day.
Why might this be? When you hear better, your brain picks up more of what’s happening around you — footsteps, traffic, people talking, environmental sounds. That extra awareness may help you stay steadier and safer.
👩⚕️ As an audiologist, I always say:
🦻Hearing care isn’t just about sound — it’s about safety, independence, and quality of life.
🦻If you’ve been putting off a hearing test, now’s a great time to act.
🦻Well-fitted hearing aids could make a real difference not just to your ears, but to your balance too.
💙 Protect your hearing. Protect your brain. Protect your steps.
