Mental Health Awareness Week 💚
This week, we are recognising Mental Health Foundation’s Mental Health Awareness Week, which this year focuses on the theme of “Action” reminding us that even small actions can make a big difference to mental health and wellbeing.
At Haven Domestic Abuse Service, we know that domestic abuse and mental health are closely linked. Many survivors experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and isolation as a result of the abuse they have experienced.
Throughout the week, we will be promoting positive mental wellbeing within our refuge and community services through:
💚 Anxiety support sessions
💚 Wellbeing and self-care activities
💚 Creative and therapeutic sessions
💚 Safe spaces to talk and connect
💚 Emotional support from our specialist team
Sometimes, taking action can be as simple as:
✨ Checking in on someone
✨ Asking for support
✨ Taking time to rest
✨ Speaking kindly to yourself
✨ Reaching out instead of struggling alone
No one should feel they have to face things by themselves.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, support is available. Please remember you are not alone.
