2026 So Far…

What an eclectic mix of activities we’ve enjoyed ... It’s a delight reminiscing over all the special moments we’ve shared together at Canwick House.

It’s hard to name every one of them — but thankfully, our photos help tell the story.

We welcomed our first visit from Magic Merlin, bringing smiles and a little extra sparkle to the day. We received precious handwritten notes from our Year 6 friends at Bishop King Primary School — words like "stay strong, you're beautiful" we'll treasure them forever.

Charlotte’s nail & manicure sessions have been a hit with us all, creating a dedicated time for peace & pampering, whilst enjoying a little extra sparkle 💅

Our games table is the place to be in the afternoons, a lively spot, fiercely competing over tiddlywinks, dominoes, or choosing the appropriate word on the Scrabble board ;)

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful team from Stokes Tea & Coffee, who generously gave their time, sharing a delicious platter was a real treat — but it was the kindness, warmth and conversation that truly made the day so special. We appreciate the connection and compassion felt by all. A heartfelt thank you to our manager Gemma for working with Stokes and arranging our very first connection together.

Our morning exercises are good fun & timed perfectly before we enjoy tea and biscuits — because balance in life is key!

And of course… there’s the mysterious construction in the garden. We’ve had many guesses — but what could it be? Exciting times for us here at Canwick ❤️

Togetherness. We do this well at Canwick House. Most times we're caring, but sometimes we take the mic and take centre stage.

Phenomenal Funmi, senior care assistant. - taking this opportunity to praise you for being such a wonderful care giver.

Canwick is not just a care home — it’s a home from home.

We eased into our week welcoming Father Yüce Kabakçi from All Saints Church in Canwick (part of the Washingborough Group of Churches)

Located right next to our very special village church, did you know? We have a gate between our garden & the church. Our own special access.

Canwick House was originally built in 1889 designed by architect William Watkins, as the rectory for the parish — where the parish rector (the Church of England priest) lived.

Our Residents are so grateful for Father Yüce’s visit! 🙏

Such delight can be taken from moments like this. Sometimes, it’s the traditional approach and the simplicity of the Word that speaks to the heart.

Thank you for bringing comfort, inspiration, and your kind presence to us — it truly made our day.

"Saturday made special" with singers from Lincoln Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Feeling very blessed by wonderful music and wonderful friends. This yearly visit is something we look forward to.

Fingers n toes tapping, anything to keep to the beat of Jeremy’s wonderful compilation of hits from an era where music was magic! Jeremy really is a magician, he has a gift for turning our lounge into a stage and really capturing the moment with heartfelt interactions & plenty of laughter.
