Annie Griffith Tarot Readings

Annie Griffith Tarot Readings I have read the Tarot for over 35 years, for family, friends, festival attendees and people looking for guidance.

I'm opening up a small number of weekly appointments in my home just off Monks Road in Lincoln.

I always forget to publish here, but just wanted to do a shout out to the Ministry of Steampunk who invited me along to do an evening of tarot readings during their "Immortal Ball" at the Lincoln Assembly Rooms last weekend.

It was amazing to see so many people, and I had lost my voice by the end of it!

Thankyou everyone!

I find early Spring a time to retreat and concentrate on introspection. The tarot is excellent for that.

I’ve been spending a lot of time with my “Spirit Keeper’s Tarot” deck, which I preordered from the amazing Benebell Wen and received early Autumn last year. It is very much an advanced deck with layer after layer of symbolism from around the world. The guide book that comes with it is VAST, illustrated throughout and an excellent read 🙂

Our neighbours are doing a lot of building work, and consequently our house is not a haven of calm at the moment, so I’ve had to close down my readings for a couple of months until it is a little more sensible, sound-wise!

Browsing on Pinterest and I came across this. It is truly the most insane tarot spread I have ever seen. Who in their right mind would do this? How can you possibly hope to find any sense with this! It’s a third of an entire deck right in the layout!!!!

Daily Tarot Pull using the Dark Rider Waite Smith Deck.

My question was about putting my practice out into the public more, and the King of Pentacles is exactly who I needed to see there. He tells me to be calm, confident and business like. He tells me that I know my worth and my abilities and to not be afraid to let other people know, too.

Time to start thinking about the next step forward, I guess!

I dug out an oracle deck today - Maia Toll’s “The Illustrated Herbiary”. I’m normally a straight tarot kind of person, but I am doing a lot of thinking about my garden recently, so it seemed appropriate. Today’s pull was “Reishi”, a bracket fungus.

This card talks about transformations- us turning ourselves into the people we want to be, and stepping into our power. Where do you feel your power lies?

Daily Tarot Pull: Using the “So Below”
Deck, here is the King of Wands. The King of Wands is a strong Yang energy (although portrayed as feminine in this deck). The King of Wands calls us to get creative with something that we *know* we are good at, so check the false modesty at the door and get creating!

The postman brought my “Book of Maps” for the Spirit Keeper’s Tarot yesterday. Bearing in the usual tiny “Little White Book” that is included in the standard tarot deck one buys, this is a bit impressive. Photo shows a standard LWB and the SKT Book of Maps….

So, I ordered the Spirit Keeper's Tarot. I feel a little guilty because it is quite spendy, but anyone booking in for a reading with me will see this gorgeous deck when it arrives in late spring.

What I hadn't really appreciated until I sent my order in was the level of extras than Benebell sends out. I am used to most decks coming with a book of basic meanings and artist intentions when designing the deck. It is a great addition to a deck if you are a tarot beginner, or if the deck you have purchased is sufficiently different from a standard Rider-Waite-Smith deck to make it necessary. I am currently doing a journalling exercise with my copy of "The Wildwood Tarot" which is significantly different in both design, archetypes and meanings to make a guidebook essential.

So, I was expecting a guidebook with the SKT deck. Ms. Wen mentions the "Little White Book" booklet. Having read my "We've got your order and here are the details" email, I can say that the "booklet" is 80 pages. Hardly a "booklet". I was very happy about this. Then I read on a bit further.

I also get a PDF of the full guidebook. 700 pages of content. 700 FREAKING PAGES! This covers all the esoteric content of the cards, including Hermetic Qabalah, numerology, astrology and I Ching, and addressing both Western and Eastern gnosticism. I'm very glad she is not sending this out as a pre-printed book as I dread to think what the cost of shipping abroad would be...

Having read all this and thinking, "Blimey, that's a huge book with more content than I could have possibly hoped for!", my email pinged again with a second notification.

It was the PDFs for the SKT "Book of Readings" and journalling prompts. 408 pages.

This may have been a bit spendy, but that's a LOT of content and value right there. I'm thrilled!

Oh, and apparently, there's a password to a private video series of teaching guides as well.

I apologise, as I may be a huge bore about this for a long time - the journalling process is apparently 6 months from beginning to end. I CAN'T WAIT! (But she says to wait until we've got the cards in our hands....)

Today is my designated “study day”. Surrounded by new decks, my tarot path working journal, and digging deep into some new concepts - I am a great believer that there is no such thing as too much knowledge. Already discovered some fascinating new ways to work with the court cards which are quite exciting!

Of course, I made the mistake of looking at Benebell Wen’s site and discovered that her “Spiritkeepers’ Tarot” is being reprinted this year and she is taking pre-orders.

This deck is my no.1 object of tarot desire and was out of print for the longest time…. But I know that if I don’t preorder, it is likely to sell out even before it goes to press.

Argh! Somebody stop me!

I’m now taking bookings for the New Year, so if you would like a reading to help with clarifying directions and intentions for 2023, drop me a message!

I’m hoping that Santa might bring me new tarot. But if I’m honest, I ALWAYS hope Santa will bring me new tarot. And the Easter Bunny. And for my birthday. And any random new moons…. I just love tarot….

Anyway, the kettle is always on, the biscuit barrel will be full, come and have a reading!

Repeat readings for people are one of my favourite things - the chance to see how previous readings landed, and use that focus to interpret a new reading? Priceless!

Today was was Darkprint Waite-Smith cards.

I’ve always been very fond of Norse
Myth - the stories are SO good - and I’ve wound a lot of the symbology into my personal practice. You may often see me with Elder Futhark runes in my hair, for one thing!

Having tea and discussing tarot with a good friend a couple of weeks ago, and she showed me her Runic Tarot. I loved the bright colours
and myth laden cards. I went to look for it, and sadly discovered that it was no longer available. But there was a new look Runic Tarot.

I am now fighting the almost irresistible urge to buy another deck.

Argh!
