Today I’m quietly celebrating something that, a few years ago, felt impossible.
This morning I drove to the gym.
I met with a personal trainer.
I had a swim, a sauna, and sat in the whirlpool bath.
On the surface, it might not sound like much.
But there were days during my menopause journey when my anxiety was so overwhelming I couldn’t leave the house.
Even simple plans felt impossible.
My nervous system was constantly on high alert.
One of the biggest shifts I see — and have lived — in midlife is nervous system sensitivity.
Things we once tolerated — late nights, alcohol, constant socialising, rushing — suddenly feel overwhelming.
This isn’t weakness.
It’s wisdom.
Your body is asking for a different pace, different support, and different boundaries.
This is where therapeutic coaching can be so powerful — creating a safe space to understand your stress responses, rebuild confidence, and gently regulate your nervous system over time.
When we listen instead of pushing through, everything begins to settle — physically and emotionally.
If you’re in a season where small steps feel big, please know they count.
And healing doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful.
With warmth,
Sarah
