It can be a big step to see a therapist for the first time, especially if you don't know what to expect.

While every therapist will have their own way of starting with a new client, there are some things that will always be covered.

Your first session is an opportunity for you to make sure you feel comfortable with your therapist, and to explain the problems you’re experiencing.

As survivors we so often see ourselves as defective and deficient, as if there is something 'wrong' with us. But we fail to see just how amazing we are. And we really are!
