Helping out in the home……..

Our lovely resident Julie asked if she could help do something around the home.

She loves getting involved in the everyday life of the home and wanted to contribute. Our kitchen team were more than happy to welcome her and she helped make sandwiches for everyone as well as assisting with washing up and general cleaning duties.

She really enjoyed being active and involved and our team loved having her work with them. A big thank you to Julie for the wonderful work she did.

Drawing from memory….

At Bassingham, part of the care we give is to help our residents maintain their cognitive skills. Art sessions have long played an important part in doing that and last week was no exception.

Pooch Power….

It’s long been known that animals can play an important role in improving the spirits of people, and so it was this week when the residents of Bassingham were visited by a beautiful dog.

🌸 Flower Arranging With Purpose...

This week, our residents took part in a meaningful and creative flower arranging activity, carefully creating beautiful displays to brighten up their bedrooms and bring a little flavour of spring indoors.

The flowers themselves came from the funeral of a much-loved fellow resident, someone we were all so fond of and who is dearly missed by both staff and residents alike. It felt especially fitting to use these flowers to create something beautiful, honouring their memory and keeping a little piece of them with us in our home.

At Bassingham Care Centre, we treasure the sense of family we have here — supporting each other through sadness, celebrating life’s little moments together, and always finding ways to fill our home with care, compassion, and colour. 💐

They were great fun to make and tasted wonderful. Needless to say they didn’t last long and everyone is asking when’s the next baking session going to be!

Pyjama Day…..

Here at Bassingham Care Centre, our residents and staff all had a fantastic time recently as we had a relaxing day at the home. Everyone was dressed in their comfiest pyjamas as we all spent time enjoying refreshments and quality time together.

A Day of Festive Fun…..

Here at Bassingham Care Centre, our residents have had lots of fun over the past few days in the build-up to Christmas. We have been putting on many great festive activities for our residents to enjoy, and over the weekend we held our Christmas party - a brilliant way to spread Christmas cheer throughout the home ahead of the big day!

Getting Festive….

Our residents here at Bassingham have been getting in the Christmas spirit recently. We have been taking part in lots of fun activities to get everyone into the holiday mood, and we recently set up a Christmas biscuit decorating session.

Our residents all took their turn dipping each biscuit into the chocolate mixture and creating some gorgeous festive treats!

Brilliant Bassingham Fireworks….

Here at Bassingham Care Centre, our residents had a lovely time as we held our fireworks night. It was a truly wonderful evening with friends, family members and staff all getting involved and holding sparklers. Everyone enjoyed the display, with some delicious food to accompany them as we watched in the garden.

A thoroughly enjoyable night all round!
