WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS

Despite announcements in the press, we still cannot prescribe or refer patients for weight loss injections.

Whilst guidance was issued by the NHS in June, this is VERY specific and only a very small number of patients will be eligible. Once a local service is in place, we understand that those patients who are eligible will be contacted but we will update you when we have more information.

The initial cohorts and timeline for NHS patients are:

• Cohort I (2025-26): 4 or more comorbidities and BMI ≥40
• Cohort II (2026-27): 4 or more comorbidities and BMI 35-39.9
• Cohort III (2026-2028): 3 or more comorbidities and BMI ≥40

The eligible "co-morbidities" (health conditions) are:

• dyslipidaemia (abnormal fat levels in the blood)
• hypertension (high blood pressure)
• obstructive sleep apnoea (when your breathing stops and starts while you sleep)
• cardiovascular disease (heart and blood vessel disease)
• type 2 diabetes mellitus

Other weight loss advice is available via One You Lincolnshire and health and well-being coaches.

Thank you to our patients for their patience last week during our IT outage. We had a few challenging days and most people were kind and understanding which we very much appreciated.

Our systems are now up and running and we have resumed all services. We are rebooking appointments that had to be cancelled so those patients will hear from us.

Thanks also to our amazing Minster team who did everything possible to keep our patients safe and to support one another ❤️

IT UPDATE:

Our IT systems are still down so we are currently unable to see patients. An engineer is expected this morning so we hope they can resolve the problem. Appointments for this morning are being cancelled. We will make a decision later this morning about this afternoon.

We understand how frustrating this situation is and unfortunately this is completely out of our hands. Thank you for your patience and support.

IT UPDATE:

Unfortunately our IT systems are still not working so we are not able to safely provide care. If you have an urgent medical need please call 111 or go to the Urgent Treatment Centre.

We have a limited number of staff working remotely to process prescription requests etc. If you have submitted a request please check your SystmOnline account or the NHSapp to see if it has been sent to the pharmacy. Please do not ring the surgery as we are working with backup mobile phones so need to keep access for those who need more urgent support.
